    Yezdi engine gets hot

    Hi,
    I own 1985 Yezdi Roadking. I am using 40ml of 2T for 1 litre petrol. It producing more smoke and engine gets too hot for a ride of 10kms. Is it problem with engine or with petrol oil mixture?.
    I am planning to go for long ride.

    Please help me out in my case.

        40 ml oit sounds good. check if the bike is running lean. What engine oil are you using.

        do you get a drastic drop in performance onxe the bike is heated up?

          RKs are smoking barrels so don't worry about smoke . Try using castrol 20w-50 to mix with petrol, 40/50 ml per ltr of petrol.

            hi sohaibak there is no drop in performance and also bike is running smoothly. but i can feel the heat in my ankle if i wear the slipper while the bike is running for the travel of 10km and also if i struck in signal i can feel the heat from the engine hitting my face. . Some of my friends suggested that (CB points) setting need to adjust.

              1. Are you running the bike on points? The setting might be a bit advanced and you might need to take it back a bit.
              2. Get the carb checked up and cleaned. It might also be the case that the bike is running very lean.
              3. Can you get the engine oil and its level checked. ( Just curious about the smoke thing)

              Can you give more details about the bike..and since when this problem started.

                Hi Green,
                I don't if I am too late in responding to this post, (just got my X-BHP ID, this is my first post ). Well for starters how long have you had the bike? I thought my RK heated up too much as well when I first got it, but on reading up I found out that 2-Strokes have a tendency to overheat, more likely so in dense, stop-go traffic, the bike feels no longer in the comfort zone but over a perios of usage as well as from other forums I have learnt that it helps to switch of the engine in signals and long waits in traffic jams. If you are still convinced there is an issue. I will get back to you ASAP
