  • Need Advice on Non-OE replacement parts for my RD

    Hi Guys,
I need your advice on alternatives to OE parts for my bike.

    1. Front Footrests-
I need to change the Front footrests Assembly of my bike. The right side has a broken footpeg, but the rod is intact. The left side has a welded pipe in place of a foot peg.

    1) I would like to know about any NON-OE + better than OE replacement which will fit in the stock location.
    2) Can rearsets be fitted in the stock location?
    3) Also I have heard about the splendor footrest jugad. Any info on this would be appreciated. I can consider this a temporary quick fix.

I am not considering importing these. So easily available in India would be great. I'll decide based on your advice and see what suits me best. If nothing else then I'll hunt for OE footrests.

    2. Rims and spokes -

I am looking for rims a little wider than OE rims. Got to know that 1st gen Pulsar and CBZ rims are a direct replacement.
    1) Any other options from Indian bikes?
    2) Are the CBZ ones more durable than pulsars' ?

    Thanks

A couple of more parts will need attention, after I change these

You can easily find second hand replacements for the front footrests.
fz rearset bars along with footrests wld work. If its oe cbz rims then they will last longer.

        Thanks for the approval Monk.

Thanks a lot Bibhu. I'll try to get the CBZ rims then .
the FZ rearsets - will fit in the same place as stock - I mean my foot position would remain the same or will it go backwards a little? And if you have any leads for the secondhand footrests, let me know.

With fz footrests your foot position will go back. You will need to go for fz gear n break lever too. It will be like a rear set position and will take some Fabrication to make it work. I gave the FZ suggestion because you asked for rear sets. If your OE bars are intact then go for splendor or avenger footrests.

For new OE footrests contact Dr. Nitesh Patidar (ID: Yamdoot). He just might be able to help you.
For used oe footrests do a google search n you should find quite a number of people selling used rd parts online.
