  • Suzuki Shaolin Reviews Needed.

    Hi Guys,

Currently I ride RXG and I am pretty much happy with its performance on streets. Now I am getting 1999 Shoalin. please provide review about it.
any upgrade/modification is not planned for this bike other than a good EC
I have following question in my mind.

    1. how much bhp stock engine produces? (it varies from site to site so bit confused)
    2. what is cruising speed without much stress on engine? as I'll use it for weekend rides.
    3. pros and cons of this bike. (any type of informative comments are welcomed)
    4. RX135 5speed vs Shaolin (which one to go for)

please provide a link which describes detailed review.

    Thanks.

Biking is not about what you have between your legs, its all about how well you use it!!!!!!!

      Hi,

Without a second thought go for RX135 5 speed. regarding spare parts...

TVS introduced this bike to compete with the Yamaha RX 135. Suzuki Shaolin is an awesome bike with 140 cc 12Bhp with 5 speed transmission. Shaolin is a low reving engine, with good torque at the low end. where as its predecessor shogun is 110cc 14bhp with 4 speed transmission. The elevated Bhp figures are due to high reving wider torque band engine.
A ported and proper tuned Shaolin will be much fun to ride.

The only con about(Tvs stable) shaolin is getting the spare parts... you wont get any parts from TVS SVC for two stroke bike except for tvs super XL... even getting any decent non OE parts is a nightmare.

still If you really likes shoalin check the bike completely for all performance parts. like bore piston, crank, gearbox, carb etc..

For Yamaha RX135 5 Speed spare parts... apart from 5 speed magnet side case cover and 5 speed speedo meter, rest of the OE parts are easily avilable if you are ready to visit yamaha Service centers.

Just saw a shaolin parked on the street. Was in top condition. I was just amazed seeing it. Waited till the owner arrived and inquired about it. Turned out that he is interested in selling it. He is quoting 55000 negotiable. Want to know is worth buying it at the quoted rate. Please help

55k is too high for a Shaolin.
Unlike RX series, Shaolin's do not have high resale value and they're not much in demand. Spares are also an issue.

All of the rx-100 parts are available but not all showrooms sells the parts as far as the rx-135 is concern getting parts is difficult but still you will get them if you are willing to spend time, look out for authorised spare parts shops in automotive parts market in your state.
