  • YAMAHA RX 135 Clutch bell free play issue

    Hello Everyone,

This is my first post. So please bear with me.

I own a two-stroke legend Rx 135 for four years. In recent months, the bike started to jerk back and forth when the accelerator is released at high speed. Mechanic inspected and informed me that there is a play in the clutch bell and we need to give it lathe to fix it. Then after 1 month, I got the same problem. I went to a new mechanic and he inspected the clutch and told me that there is a free play in clutch bell again(he showed it to me. It was the same as last time). Now it's given to lathe to fix that issue and everything looks okay. But again in a month, I got the same problem. I really don't know why free play keeps coming in clutch bell. Can you guys please suggest to me what can be done? Is there any way to fix this?

    Vehicle Details:
    Rx 135 - 2002 model
    Almost stock Condition

The rubber bushings used for the repair seems to be at fault , get good quality bushings from outside shops and get them changed from a reliable lathe shop under your own observation

OE bushings are stopped by Yamaha. Should I buy non-OE bushings? I couldn't find good quality bushings in the shop (I'm staying in Coimbatore & always find 40rs not so good quality bushings).

Qus 2) Is bushings always the same for all the bikes? Can I buy different OE bushings and fit them in 135?

Qus 3) Is there any problem with Carburator? Does it lead to this issue?

Other than the bushes, Try cleaning carb if not done already.
Make sure your air/fuel mixture is right by proper carb tuning.
Make sure your oil/fuel ratio is proper if running on premix.
            Sane ride - 25 to 30 ml/lt.
            Braap braap - within 40ml/lt
Point is lean mixture can also cause jerks.

My RX 100 has a similar problem. There is noticeable vibration and noise from clutch side at idle and while riding but the noise and vibration goes away when the clutch is engaged
