It's a 1995 RTZ in reasonable running condition with a valid RC book and all the original parts are on it. We ride it back about 20km with no issues at all. The side panel on the right is missing but luckily the owner had a spare set he had bought some time ago. Will be planning to do a nuts and bolts restoration with a total stripdown. The Colour scheme will be black which was what my KB was but unfortunately sold off in 1995.

Kb100
After a couple of years of looking around have managed to buy a KB100 in Hyderabad.

The plan is to get it transferred to my name but it also needs to past a fitness test. So will be getting it roadworthy initially to get these done. Hopefully once that's done will move the bike into my flat to strip it down and do a proper restoration.
Jobs done so far and plan if action:
1. Have given it a good clean. Chain cover painted.
2. Got the electrics mostly sorted out. The indicators weren't working which was sorted by replacing the flasher relay, rewiring a few wires and cleaning the contacts in the bulb holders. Lights, horn, warning lamps are all back online too. Not sure if the fuel gauge is working or not tho as the tank doesn't have enough fuel in it to check.
3. Tachometer is working but the speedometer cable was missing. I managed to luckily find a kb100 cable hidden in the back of a local shop!!! Unfortunately the gears at the wheel hub are missing so I'll need to sort it out at some point.
4. Front brake light switch was missing but have managed to replace temporarily with a Hero Honda one with a bit of jugaad. Rear brake switch just needed cleaning and adjusting.
5. Checked the charging system and the magneto seems fine putting out the right 12.5 AC volts at 4000 rpm but the DC side is knackered so will need to chk that in some detail once start stripping the bike down.
6. Front brakes are fine but rear brake definitely needs attention.
7. The engine starts in one kick even from cold and without choke and no obvious leaks from the crankcase but can't be entirely sure bcos of the grime underneath. Clutch and gears seem fine.
Am not sure whether to completely rebuild the engine and gearbox as part of the restoration or just leave things as they are. At the minimum I want to service the oil pump and carburettor.
Any thoughts on this?
8. The air filter has seen better days as has the spark plug which will be replaced.
9. I will spray the tank and side panels black with new decals which was the colour of my original bike.
10. Found a bit of corrosion on one of the chassis tubes which should be sorted with some welding.
11. The wiring loom is in good nick and may leave it in as it's original.
12. Will try to replace indicators, brake light, headlight (though tbf this is in ok condition) and instrument panel case if I can find spares.
14. Will also try to replace all rubbers, etc and rechrome all shiny bits including wheels, grab rail, mudguards tho the crash guard is past it's best and will need replacing.
15. If I can get a replacement will need to replace the oil tank.
16..The switch gear is original so may try to paint it instead if replacing.
Some more pics:
KB was made in 1995 and RC390 in 2015. Both bIkes are just 20 years apart but the difference in technology is worlds apart. Fun fact both bikes were probably built in Pune maybe even in the same factory.
My third bike is the Ducati 916 but that lives in the UK.
