  • Restoring a 1996 Yamaha RxG 135 (4-Speed)

    Hi All,

    I just bought a 1996 Model RxG 135 (4-Speed) for 10k 1st Owner for 10k
    Although the Bike was not in the best conditions in terms of cosmetics
    Also the engine needs a slight overhaul

    Restoring the bike completely to a Stock Version Rx135

    Will post invoices of all the cosmetics purchased shortly
    & Will also give a complete breakdown of the cost involved in this process

      Good to see another RX restoration.
      Did you rebore the cylinder??
      Is the change to 135 a cosmetic one??

        Havent Touched the Engine as Yet.. The Idea Was to get the Bike to look as Brand New Stock..
        I feel will have to re do the piston & the Connecting Rods... I have change the Clutch Plates & Pressure plates for Now
        Painted the Chasis, Tank, New Rims, Spokes, Tyres, Handlebar, Headlight, Taillight, All Levers, All Switches, New Wires etc & the list goes on

        & Yes i coudlnt get the RxG decals & SIde panels to Used the 135 instead

          Its better that you finish all the work, both engine and body for peace of mind.
          RX looks better with out the fork gaiters

            Even planning to take them off... Maybe the mechanic tried to hide them fork oil leak if any... Will rip it of before delivery now.. Will do the engine work after a week total cost so far

            10k - Bike
            Spares - 4200 all cosmetics only
            Full chassis engine tank paint 3500
            3800 - New tires
            1000 - rims
            500 - Battery

            Labour don't know as yet

            Will give the spares breakup in a bit

                Tried to give the break in simple terms so guys here can estimate their restoration if they ever need to!!!
