  • Help on which 2t oil to buy

    Hi everyone.
i'm new here and own a 2 stroke bike ie Suzuki Max 100R.
started this thread to get solution for my queries regarding my bike.
hope i will find solutions here.

first let me start with 2T oil:
using the oil injection/auto lube for lubrication purpose.
and i've no problem with oil injection as mechanic is taking care of it every now and then.

mechanic told not to get castrol as they are not always original.
i've been using mak 2t oil, as that is the only oil i find here and original too.
recently due to emergency i was forced to use half litre of MAGNOL 2t oil, a local made oil costs Rs.100 for half litre and green in color.
neither had problems nor got a smooth performance, except more exhaust smoke than before.

by weekend i will be coming to chennai.
planning to get shell 2t oil(one that comes in green bottle) and use it.
is there any better oil that i can use in oil injection without much of troubles and without pinching my pocket?

and i do not use premix, so i don't think i need a full synthetic oil.
please suggest a good oil in ~300 rupees range that can be used in oil injection also tell me where to buy them in chennai.

    thank you in advance.
kindly move to the proper section if i'm posting this in a wrong section.

Welcome Aanandh, after reading your post I'm trying to understand few things here..

      1. You want a good original decent performance oil but not fully synthetic.
      2. You want oil which is does not burn your pocket.

      Here is my conclusion:-

Shell 2T(normal) - good and decent performance.

Mak2T - affordable and heard it does the job too.

You can get the above oil in respective petrol bunks here in Chennai apart from Oil dealers/distributors.

        thanks brother.
i was thinking of shell only, thought will take suggestions from xbhipians.

how about gulf 2t, yamalube, petronas and motul?
anyone of it in the same price range n better performance.
else i will go with shell itself..!

i don't want to open new thread and congest the forum.
saw my bike today morning and found there was oil leakage in exhaust end.
left the bike for 3 days without driving and took today, it was going as usual.
but i feel like oil leak may be a problem.
is there anything wrong with my bike?

it was raining heavily and too much cold here. parked bike in portico and din't got wet even by a drop.
was it because of condensation with carbon deposits?
after wiping it there was nothing dripping again in the exhaust.
and as usual the response was crisp.
but had a cloud of smoke while starting for the first time.

Oil dripping from exhaust is normal. Some excess gets out of exhaust pipe. At the same time see to it that we feed too much 2T oil into cylinder, else spark plug might foul. No bakwaas only experience.

Oil leak from the exhaust indicates one of two things. Either 1. your spark is weak and not burning the oil properly or 2. You are using too much oil which is getting expelled through the exhaust.

Using too much oil is harmful as it leans out the mixture. It will also blow your plugs.

Regarding 2t try elf semi-synth 2t. Costs about 280rs/lt and works great. Produces less smoke than mineral 2t as well.

                    thank you both.

is there a way to check if there is too much of oil is pumped into cylinder?
or should i take it to my beloved mechanic?

i'm in love with this forum for prompt reply.
                    thanks a lot again.

want to know if it is ok to ask my doubts in the same thread instead of opening new one for every query?

                        Welcome Aanandh,
I am using YAMAHALUBE for my 91 RX 100 & BP MAX 2T for the 89 RX 100, Both performance is good,YAMAHALUBE is 330Rs per litre MRP I get 15 %discount from a dealear in Thane Maharashtra. Yamahalube is semi-synch oil will result in good performance, Adjust the oil pump stroke, pulley radial travel for correct quantity of oil pumping,
Does your MAX 100R has a ASSLY SWITCH , OIL LEVEL ? ,The electro mechanical device which senses oil level in OIL tank & when level turns low a waning lamp on dash board / speedo meter console lights up,I hav purcase the same & planning to install it in my 89 RX 100 .

thanks for the input brother. i do not know the technical name. but a red light will glow everytime the oil level goes below minimum in the dash board. i totally have no idea about pulley and all. but accodring to my beloved mechanic it is working well and good. (he is using suzuki max 100r, blue color, 1998 make). i do not feel any lag in performance at all. but comparatively i felt BP Mak 2t gave out less smoke than local made oil(MAGNOL 2T). currently i added SHELL VSX 2T in the oil pump. i can tell the performance after atleas 30-40 kms. will surely try YAMALUBE next time and update the change in performance. but i feel it is priced quiet above MAX 2T as well as SHELL 2T. any ways nothing wrong in giving a try. wil do it soon.
