  • Shogun needs your help

Glad to be back into restoration mode, my 1997 Shogun 4 Speed. So far have sourced most of the parts, but just a few things needed. First off the speedo meter console. The stock one which is with the bike is working good, but faded significantly and, both the speedo and tachy bolts have rusted so much so it's not so aesthetically appealing.

Secondly, if anyone can let me know where I can get the block piston kit for the Shogun, again the bike purrs perfectly. But if I can lay my hands on them, that'd be real great.

Work in progress as of now. Any other pointers or chums with good contact or contact of contacts, kindly please pour in your thoughts here. Or if you have anything to offer, kindly please PM.

    Thanks

    Cheers!
    VJ
Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
    The girl said, 'NO!'

And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

Appreciate that, Bibhu. It took well over months to finalize the stuff and so forth. But will keep you posted.

I used a question mark remember? Yes no spare is gonna be sold or given to auction, by the help of some good minded folks, I'm able to source 85% of all the parts required. So far the bike is stable and running fine with "as-it-is" setup. So, so far the parts are all OE and glad to have sourced, but, if I can get my hands on the block and speedo, my project can be called a 95% complete, not excluding the nitty-gritty.

        Cheers!

Vijay - Is this a restoration thread or spares sourcing thread? Sorry, reading this thread tends me to ask this question. For your shogun requirement, there is a separate thread dedicated to Suzuki 2 strokes, that might be of help IF you had not had a chance to look at. Well, I would guess, you'll continue your shogun story in the same thread. All the best for your restoration. Need help in executing the plan, let me know, will be glad to help.

Hey, thanks Sri for chiming in, that's real nice of you to offer help, would be glad to. Nah, I've scoured the entire Thumper thread painstakingly reading it for weeks and so many questions unanswered in many threads here, and you would think I would post just like that without going through the forum to the level I could

So just posted the thread, so that it gets the right person's attention.

But pun apart, I won't call it a factory spec restoration as to what members are doing, I am doing my best to keep it to the spec how I like the Gun to be w.r.t how it is supposed to be.

Will definitely call you for any help, Sri, and that's for sure.

              Cheers!
