Oh that could be one of the reasons too. But then this weird sound starts even as soon as I start the engine. When it heats up it just increases and then finally stalls the engine.

I'm thinking of shell 2T. And I read an interesting article on engine seizure. As you said usually the piston to cylinder clearance is the culprit it says. May be there is no enough clearance to facilitate that amount of thermal expansion of piston. And it says these occasional stalling is called "scoring". And thanks a lot for letting me know the difference and your valuable suggestions. Appreciate it.
I use Mak gold 40 (SAE 40 grade oil) to mix with petrol and its pretty good. Its close to the factory recommended SAE 50 grade oil. It will be perfect if you can get Veedol HBD 50 oil, but hard to get one.

This post is like 10 years old . I have an yezdi and I am facing a situation some what similar to this . I do not even know if the authors will get notified since it is a very old thread . Recently restored used power pace pistons 0.5mm for rebore ,skf bearings ,ipl (old stock) rings etc etc .. anyway I feel like the lathe guy has put some extra clearance to the bore with which during cold start and couple of mins later tik tik sound comes from the engine . The bike was restored from a place which is 40 kms from my home .After the work I took the bike from there and I rode it from there to home taking some stops after 5-6kms . The day was rainy and the engine was not getting heated as in the case of a tight bore . The ride was smooth and calm .
I ran out of fuel since the carb was overflowing . I tried to repair the carb by myself and the slider and spring came out . I fixed the slider and mechanic came and adjusted the float and all . After that I am hearing the tik tik sound mainly (I do not know if that is caused by slider /piston rings ) sound disappears after 5-6 kms ride .I checked the slider and there is shake when I shook it sideways ..Which is the one causing the sound .Please share the thoughts
