Yes I agree with vijaymeyou. Don't loose even so much as an old rusted nut. Trust me if you loose something you'll have to go to the ends of the earth to find it and still chances of you finding it are slim at best. If nothing at least the old rusted bits and bobs will be important for sizing and as examples for lathe cutting.

Just a query though, being a 2-stroke machine, Will this comply to the emission norms as per today once the bike is restored. Sorry for this dumb question.

See those amazing styled fonts, by the way can someone throw some light on if zundapp had a electronic version..?
"electronic" implies that the bike came with an electronic ignition system (cdi) , the explorer wasnt the only one sporting it the chetaks and bajaj autos also came adorned with emblems saying electronic /12v electronic

Nope. But who cares its an old out of production bike. Trust me if Rx's and samurais can run on the roads no problem then this bike will be fine.

Hey Archer your question is right but it wont and there is norms as of now that you cannot ride a 2 stroke only norm is u cannot manufacture / sell one, so like any other Rx, Yezdi, RD, shogun, this will also be runny happily 5-8 km a week i dont think that will harm the environment , offtopic: still autos are made with 2 stroke engine and are sold as new vehicles (250cc )

Ya KB100 its understood that electronic stands for electronic ignition but what i was trying to tell is those fonts in which "electronic" writen is facinating as this must have been designed in 80's and now i am fining it difficult that none of the sticker guys cud match now I hot an idea of tracing in a trace paper and transfering it as a digital data and do the sticker ...

Re: Restoring a Enfield Explorer.......help required!!!

Hi guys i have finaly found the place to do the zinc and painting and have sent the parts for zinc and painting. I am curiously waiting for the plated parts and painted i have asked the follwing in order.

First i have asked to get the frame painted in black. Then the engine block

Then i have selected the silver paint for head, alloys and chain gaurd

Hmmmm ya then ofcourse the seat frame as you can notice from the old pics the seat foam is fully wornout and i have to make a fresh new seat

Then have to give few parts for crome plating and thr front fork for hard crome

And good news guys i have found sme parts to be sourced from coimbatore i will list out the parts which i will be sourcing in the next post

Autos have the "RE two stroke" technology which makes them less polluting and more efficient. There was an explanation of the same somewhere on this forum. And that's why 2 stroke autos are still made because they are efficient, cheap to make, and Rahul Bajaj is good at lobbying his products.
And old two strokes (most of them) will soon be 30 years old. Which puts them in the classic bikes category for which pollution norms are relaxed.
