    Hi All,

    I was in the process of restoring my RXG while I was suddenly able to procure a RD350 first oversize piston. Then the power bug bit me again as usual. Read a lot of Big bore projects posted. I was comparing the pistons and had the following issues. Need solutions and suggestions please.


    1. I see the port window is raised by 3mm and shorter in width by 2.7 mm without any intake cuts in the skirt as compared to a stock piston. Will this alter the timing and cause adverse effects? I can see the port window shapes are entirely different.


    2. Is the rework of the squish band and combustion chamber required? If so What is the squish gap and CC volume I should opt for? What are crank shaft mods I should follow (if any can be done)?


    3. What would be the effects of the higher compression on the connecting rod and crankshaft in long rides? Is there any strengthening options or aftermarket parts available?


    4. What would be the port setup required for exhaust and transfers?


    5. Preferable size of Carb and jets? (a 28mm flat slide is yet to be delivered)


    6. What should be the maintenance schedule and points to concentrate on during maintenance?


    7. What is the current oil to fuel ratio I should opt for?


    I have already posted in a existing but dead thread, but didn't get responses. So started a new thread to get more insight.
