  • powerblade mode for vm28

hello guys its my first post. i feel that the 5speed need some more mixture so i went for vm28. running with uni filter and rddcdi. with 200mains. the initial is slightly troubled as i we expect. but it get better over rev. and topend power.
so i done powerblade mode for vm but the fact that i need to fully turn the airscrew in to start and run. do i need big piolet for the mode. if yes which one from TBird??? or anyothers??
should i go for dave mode is it more suits???
i gone for 200jets itself since uni there??
    plz give me some directions....

      Hey conrod,

Hey buddy, I am sorry but I am unfamiliar with the terms "powerblade" mode & "dave" mode. I would reques you to kindly elaborate a little more on the same.

Also, the 200 main jet that you have used in your bike, where did you get it from? I mean, is it a custon part or did you take this off from some other bike's carburettor. Please throw some light on these things.

      Take care.

      Happy thumping,
      Prakhar

... its allover google man, just type powerblade. the horizontal plate over the intake of carb. so upto the half throttle the air will be sucked with more velocity(i think) it must be useful in larger carb so some inital and md range can be saved.....i feel the difference when i used it, but with fully tight airscrew and the trnsfer betn piolet and needle isnt smooth overall im running lean
----is it like when we use larger carb larger jet right?? but on powerblade more velocity too in low rpm so larger jet is it the equation

That powerblade is bullshit for a mod, if that plate somehow gets dislodged it will take out ur reed cage and probably ur engine too.

Do you have the right tools, emulsion tube, needle and a good machinist to do the Dave F mod? That mod is again a waste on a bike without a very radical pipe, how do I know? I ahve a carb with that mod on it done personally, and running on a piped RX.

Who gave you the UNI, and the 200 mains, because 200 is too rich for a stock RX 5 speed in any case.

Blackfire, any size jet you think of is available. I personally have 145,150,165,180 through 300. And a few more I dont remember.

P.S. Conrod, could you give your real name?

the plate made to the curve of the intake thats itwill never go into the carb it will only reach to the curve of pistonvalve

somebody offered me if i sent the correct spec-- the dave f mode

the uni and jet from rddreams. im running with custom pipes.
will u plz tell me why it is a bullshit mode even peoples selling it over internet with gud response

                Torqu3e,

Where can I find 130 mains and 25 pilot for my BS29 CV carb(Machismo 500LB) in Bangalore. I want original mikuni jets for the BS29. Any pointers would be highly helpful mate. The RE workshops don't stock jets at all.

                Cheers,

                Jay

Technically speaking that mod doesn't make any sense, I have run enough fancy carbs on my RXs to know that it wont do no good.

200 sounds a bit too rich, but whatever floats your boat man.

My 5 speed is bone stock, with RDD CDI + UNI + 145 mains + fiber reeds on ported cages and it does 120 true on a speed gun. Stock 5 speed carb.

Jayprashanth, I dont know the kind of jets the BS29CV carb uses, if you can post pics I might be able to dig something in my stockpile and see if I have anything.

The mods work mostly for applications where throttle is constantly between 1/4 to 2/3 . If setup right, it could help more of the air to pick up fuel, by increasing laminar flow. Also helps two strokes to compensate for their lower pressure differential in the carbs.

Good for bikes with a lean mid-range.

                    my 2 cents.
