    How ironic.

Thank you! I'll definitely need your help, sometime down the line if not immediately.

    Where are you from?

Thank you. That's very informative. Would you recommend taking my bike to Shogun? That's what I'm afraid about. I've heard people steal the bikes before breaking them apart for spares.

Since you live in the city, would you mind having a personal look at my bike whenever convenient for both of us?
Yes,Mr.Boss owns 3 RXs which are slightly modded. His work is top-notch,One of the best restorations till date.He loves his bikes,I respect that.He doesn't seem to like Shogun at all.

I DO NOT RECOMMEND taking your Shogun to Pudupet.Yes,Pudupet is famous for stealing and thieving bike parts especially rare ones.

Not many shogun enthusiasts in xbhp. Try to get in touch with yamdoot. He is the only one i know here who has a showroom bought gun. Rest, advice is cheap. Try to get in touch with some ppl who actually know how many gears shogun has.

Clarification, I am not trolling you, I am trying to tell the threadstarter to get in touch with people who can help with gun restoration, 99% of whom are out of the world of xbhp. I never questioned your knowledge or enthusiasm. However, if you understand your limitations, try to improve upon it first before trying to help people. Its as simple as that. Any hard feelings are regreted.

            Plus one to Bhibu,

First thing: is I have seen TVSian suggesting people (Like mr boss), We are all working professionals, I would seriously not appreciate someone standing outside my house with a bike loaded in an auto rick trying to convince me to take up the restoration, so seek permission from Mr Boss (or anyone for that matter) before recommending their names.

Second thing: is, I learned about bikes in a quick span of time, I do not suggest anything to anyone unsolicited, you have a whole life ahead of you where you can learn and spread knowledge to people once you know exactly where to apply it and can remotely help people to get out of sticky situations.

Third thing: I have already told you about what stays on the internet stays, so please be reasonable in what you write or say to others, Bibhu doesn't need to troll you, period.

Now since this thread is off topic, let me write a quick message to the OP: Make a list of all the things than you need, make it into 3 categories
            1. Must Have :List out all the must to have, then we can suggest where to look for
            2. Good to have: Good to have are things (mostly cosmetic) so make a separate list
            3. Its ok if we ignore these parts for the time being: These are stocks for future, remember this is what can make of break your bank, so always prioritise and keep buying at MRP(slight premium)

I have some stuff lying around from my previous restoration, I can check if anything is there, meanwhile list out your requirements.

Dear Pramod ,it wasnt TVSian ,it was me , and i wasnt recommending any body to do the restoration , i tagged them as the thread starter was running around in circles triying to figure out what to do with his bike and was in need of guidance , which i hoped they might be able to provide, Whether they are interested in guiding or if the thread starter is willing to take guidance is up to the parties mentioned , I have only tagged their xbhp ids , i did not post their contact details phone nos or addresses (which i donot have btw) ,so please rest, assured that the thread starter will not be able stand outside their houses with his bike loaded in an auto trying to convince them to take up the restoration

Sorry for the confusion, lets not just focus on "thread starter will not be able stand outside their houses with his bike loaded in an auto trying to convince them to take up the restoration" Helping a fellow biker is nothing wrong, in fact one of the greatest things a biker can do.

From my conversation you must have gathered(if not, please do) that this is not the first time I am having a discussion with the xbhpian in question. He is a good guy, has a potential to be great, anyone who sees his signature will think he owns all these bikes and is much older hence had a been through the passage of time. The confidence with which he writes things is commendable, the challenge is him getting bit in the rear by things he wrote once he becomes little older.

I see a lot of me in him, that is the reason why I feel obligated to fix him, which I am anyways going to stop since its taking a different route now.

pramod ,whatever is between you and him will stay between you and him ,i have no interest in interfering , i just wanted to get the facts straight, i know the kid in question, repeatedly makes a fool of himself , I guess its not his fault , with his enthusiasm and the guidance of his neighborhood mechanic it is bound to happen, but you have to admire his persistence always keep coming back for more

                    Starting trouble with Shogun

                    Hello, folks.

I purchased a Suzuki Shogun recently. Unfortunately I'm a noob.

The trouble is my bike doesn't start even if it's been left unused for eight hours. The problem persists even after numerous trips to the mechanic.

The mechanic says I have to get a new bore, but I'm not sure I can trust him after so many unsuccessful visits.

                    Some advice would be great.

                      Some advice would be great.

3 things are needed for the bike to start, a good spark, fuel and air.

to check the spark plug, remove the plug, keep it connected to the plug cap have one end (the threaded end) touch the cylinder(any metallic part of the bike would do) and kick the bike with the ignition on(there is a good chance of a high voltage electric shock from the plug so be very careful) every kick should produce a brilliant spark

To check the fuel you need to remove the carburettor hose(the thick pipe that connects the Air box with the carburettor) and place your palm behind the opening in the carb and start kicking with the fuel outlet set to on/reserve, your palm should get wet with fuel. This means the bike is getting fuel

You need to check if there is any blockade in the air intake, check if the airbox is secure and there is no physical obstruction.

                      Post results of your experiments
