RXG troubles
Hey guys, myself a bike noob from Trivandrum, new member to the xbhp community. Well I own a Discover 125 ES and recently i've inherited a Yamaha RXG 5 Speed from my brother. RXG have had its troubles when it recently leaked petrol+oil mixture(I think so) through the silencer(and it wont accelerate too) when it was in the possession of one of my friend. Inorder to rectify the problem, he consulted a mechanic he knows and made him work on the bike. After 1 months of repairs(I dont know why) and plenty of cash spend, he returned the bike. The day after that it wont start me being frustrated gave the bike to another mechanic whom i knew. The cycle repeated again because i was too ignorant of anything related to bikes. He told me that bike wont start because the source coil in the magento-stator had to be replaced. I took back my bike to my home and it was kept there for about 2 months in which I read up online forums and threads and started working on it myself. I found out that I needed to replace the incompatiable CDI box and did that too. Yet it wouldnot give in, so I took it to a new mechanic who specialized in RX's last week.He said that the crank needs to be replaced(crank is out-his words) and I've no idea how crank is the problem when there is a spark in the spark plug. He also mentioned that the bike backfired, which is the first time he saw that in a RX in his life. I would really like to get pointers from bike enthusiasts who have owned/own an RX. Thanks in advance. -

Re: RXG troubles
Such a bunch of morons who call themselves mechanics, especially in Trivandrum.
Bring your bike to my place. I will let you know what can be done. PM me your number let's see what can be done.
