  • Beginning my Second RD

    my family was ready to disown me over my first build and are seriously contemplating senind me to an asylum over the next!!!

    anyway ,folks this is my first RD build.


    Sorry i didnt have much patience then to photograph and catalogue the complete build .but will try to do so now.
    I am planing on these things this time:

    TZ750 6 port cylinders/AC cylinders with either DG or REVCO liquid cooled heads
    RD400 rear disc brake
    MZB
    RD400 tranny
    Hinson spring loaded clutch
    Daytona cafe racer fairing
    Grimeca 4 leading shoe front hub

            all ritey.new stuff arrived.its just that I am not getting the time to sit and get things started.just been collecting stuff like a MADMAN!!!here is the list will post pics later........

            • TZ750 cylinders(complete kit).
            • 1 set Revco heads.
            • 1 set DG heads.
            • TM 34 carbs.
            • RD400 transmission sent for polishing and under cutting.
            • MZB ignition.
            • Hydraulic Clutch.
            • Hinson 8 Plate clutch basket.
            • RD400 rear disc brake.

            these are the major parts.seals,bearings and rods have to be new without saying.hopefully shall be able to finish things within this year.
            Aluminum rims and other parts are on the way.

                I am sure building your own motorcycle must be one of those extremely pleasure-giving tasks one can embark upon. Needs lot of patience, passion and perseverance, which I am sure you have in abundance, looking at your first build. Please keep this thread alive with regular updates at least with few pics, if you find writing time consuming,. May you have a great time and complete this build within stipulated time set by yourself.

                  it is a pleasurable and a pain if I may say so.thanks for the good words.will keep updating as I go along.

                  since i've been declared insane it doesn't matter anymore. soooo apart from the GT750 4LS front brake I even got myself a new Grimeca 4LS front brake with aluminium rims.

                          REVCO HEADS.they've been painted black...god knows for what horror.plan to strip them and get them anodized.other pictures are the ones i pulled of the net.
