I use Motul Motomix (Easily available on Amazon) on my Max 100R.I think it's really good! But I'd suggest to do both Oil in Oil Tank and Premix with Petrol from the station (50ml Oil for every 1ltr of Petrol).Try to keep filling fuel and oil from one station.

        Thanks for the response.
Right now I am using Shell 2T oil.
And can you suggest the best Transmission Oil for RX100?

I don't know the rating, but I use Motul 3000 20W40 for my Max 100R's transmission and within the next 50KM of riding,I could feel a massive difference. That is most likely because nobody knew when the transmission got the last oil change and no idea what was used but difference is day and night for me.The clutch became much smoother and so was the shifting.Only minor point is that 1 out of every 20 times of shifting, there is a false neutral between first and second gear.

Best transmission oil in my opinion are:

            • motul 80w90 gearbox oil ₹300
            • yamalube gearoil (available in showrooms for rx’s) ₹250
            • 10w30 4t amsoil engine oil ₹750(fully synthetic)

How is the gearbox's performance using Motul 80w90 transmission oil and is it safe?
Normally I use Motul 3000 4t plus 20w40 or Castrol Activ 20w40 in transmission as Yamalube Gear Oil is hard to source.
Isn't 10w30 wrong grade for RX100's gearbox? Heard from most one can use xx40 or xx50 grade!!

Yes it’s safe to use 80w90 on gearbox as scooters use this grade oil in their gearbox.
And it’s great the gearbox does not heat up much and cools really well after the engine is shut off.

I had used 20w40 from motul, castrol as well as shell but found that after 40-50km of running gear shifting became hard..........

I too thought that 10w30 would be too light but when I rode my friend’s RX135 using. Amsoil 10w30 fully synthetic 4T oil in gearbox I have to tell you that it felt surprisingly good and the gear shifts were smooth.

In the case of Yamalube Gearbox Oil it’s really easy to find it in Yamaha showroom and distributors in my area i.e. Chhattisgarh.
And it is fabulous but you would experience high vibrations when the oil has been run for more than 5000kms.

Yamaha showrooms or workshop here in Gujarat no longer keeps stock of Yamalube 2t or Yamalube Gear box oil due to low demand.

Regarding the Gearbox/Transmission oil/fluid, I had issues of heating using 10w40 grade so switched to recommended 20w4, will try 80w90 or 75w90 (leftover of my car's transmission oil) in next oil change. [emoji1]

Have never tried Amsoil so cannot judge, would try 10w30 during winters because here temp. are mostly around 37°C to 44°C in summers.

Oh. That’s odd that Yamaha in your area does not stock gearbox oils[emoji28].

Also please don’t use used gearbox oil. Use brand new by ordering on amazon for ₹300.

Amsoil is just awesome you can buy that too from amazon, temperatures in my side of india are soring at 40degrees, amsoil performs wonderful in such condition

Not used gearbox oil, just leftover of 3x 1 litre bottle. (800mL something)
Well will buy new one as old bottle one would no longer have viscosity.
