Re: Help required to restore Suzuki Shogun
Congrats on your restoration, clutch housing is same for shogun and samurai, primary gear has a one teeth less ie 16 for samurai and 15 for shogun, to source a full clutch bell is not easy hence rebuilding of clutch bell with clutch housing of samurai and old primary driven gear of shogun will be the best bet. Btw samurai also comes with 15 teeth o/s primary gear drive .

Re: Help required to restore Suzuki Shogun
The clutch bell is having 51 teeth for shogun and i think samurai, max100 has less number of teeths(not sure i think it is 49)Originally posted by avhad sitaram View PostCongrats on your restoration, clutch housing is same for shogun and samurai, primary gear has a one teeth less ie 16 for samurai and 15 for shogun, to source a full clutch bell is not easy hence rebuilding of clutch bell with clutch housing of samurai and old primary driven gear of shogun will be the best bet. @praveen if you are going for either used one or a unused one get it in one piece. Otherwise it will be a headacheLast edited by Shogunsamurai; 02-16-2019, 11:21 PM.85 - IND-SUZUKI AX100

Re: Help required to restore Suzuki Shogun
Either you get a better accelaration or better top speed in present set up. Btw a used primary driven gear and used primary drive gear will not mate each other perfectly...atleast he requires a brand new primary drive gear. I dont know the exact difference between 15T o/s samurai and 15T shogun primary gear but one can carry used shogun primary gear and checkout brand new samurai primary gear in person and compare it. Samurai primary gear of 15 T o/s can be easily available .Originally posted by Shogunsamurai View PostThe clutch bell is having 51 teeth for shogun and i think samurai, max100 has less number of teeths(not sure i think it is 49)

Re: Help required to restore Suzuki Shogun
I have tried a used clutch bell and primary and its not matching and there is also a lot of sound from clutch bell. I have also tried using a 90 grade oil with an used clutch bell and it also does not serve the purpose. I am looking for a new 1 and any help is appreciated.
Yes Shogun came with 51 teeth clutch bell and 15 teeth primary with Samurai's bell the bike does not perform well, you will get top end pick-up and not initial.

With Samurai's primary gear you will not get the required initial pickup and the feel of riding a shogun which will not serve the purpose of restoration. The gearbox ratio in Shogun is also different from Samurai so the bike will not perform to its full potential.
