  • Another RX into stable- RX 135 Restoration

Hello fellow 2-strokers! Hope everyone's safe & doing fine. I own a black Yamaha Rx 100 that runs great. Initially I had planned to convert it to a 135 & do some performance tuning. But finally decided to leave the 100 stock as it's in great condition & moreover I didn't want to mess with its original charm. So got a scrap Rx 135 for my project. This bike is initially bought by another person very cheap as it is still on the standard bore & he wanted the engine components as spares. I got the bike from him as he doesn't need it & he also provided me with a good rear wheel that he has along with head & engine covers.

Most of the bike is rusted & looked as a daunting task to restore. It didn't even come with a key. Surprisingly the mudguards are from factory & are in amazing shape. Me & my dad gradually stripped the bike & got the frame & other parts worked on by a painter that we have known for almost 40 years at our home itself. Bought the parts needed & got some of the old ones polished. Almost all the paintwork is finished & only the tank's coat remains to be done which will be done on Monday.

Got the engine separately and is getting worked. It is bored to 1.25mm with NPP piston & ported. Head squish is worked on for better compression. Will be using rxz 6 speed reeds, rd 350 carburettor & aftermarket cdi. The engine will be ready in 10 days.

Really happy how it's turning out to be. Will be uploading all the pictures soon and will update how it will turn out.
    Cheers.
