Hey guys, do you know anyone who has attended Nandan Motors (Nandanmotors: Homepage) workshop on the mighty ol' Bullets? Please let me know the details about it, like the fee, duration and days of the week.

I too wanted to join his workshop but he just finished with one batch few weeks back. There is no duration of workshop, It goes for 2 to 3 months depending on the time that a individual requires to learn stuff. He does not rush on things. He charges about Rs 4000( For exact figure please contact Nandan and have a check with him. ) Provides a DVD and a Technical notes workbook as well.
If you are willing to join, them we can make a group and all join in one batch. He takes about 7-9 people in the group which has a mix of experienced and fresher.Comment

Let me be very frank to you on this.
The book and CD will be helpfull only if you do a practical. There is also Pete Snidal Manual available that you can get it from Gurunandan. Check the link below.

Before you make the purchase there are few things that you have to access.
1. Are you comfotable with Tools and have you carried out small repairs on your bike or at home ?
Eg:- Fixing a broken pipe at home.
The reason why I'm saying this because if you are not familiar with the tools and understand the technicalities of the machine the books is not going to be of any use for you. It is very technical and you need to have fair knowledge of the parts before you use the service manual.
Eg:-
The manual will say sound is from the floating bush and that needs to be troubleshoot. After that you will see steps to get it fixed . So you need to know what a floating bush is and what it does in the bike.
The manual will not explain what floating bush is and how to go ahead with its removal. The manual expects you to know that before hand.
So I will not suggest you anything because suggesting you to buy a Technical Manual and if you don't understand how to use it, that is just asking for trouble.
Here in India we don't do small repair ourselves as we always take the bike to the service center and have the Technician do the repair. But in abroad, Labour is very costly and sometimes even more than the parts. Those people take time to explore the bikes and get fix the issues themselves as doing so will be saving them lot of money.
I'm not saying that Indian don't do repair themselves but the percentage is very less.
You can also talk to Gurunandan directly on this and work with him on how to get familiar with Royal Enfield Bullet.
I'm will be comming to chennai next month as I plan to visit the TamilNadu Rowing Assocation as I need to purchase a pair of Concept 2 Racing Oars. We can meet up and I can show the manual and other technical stuff about Royal Enfield.Comment
