  • '99 shogun restored

    Hi all,

I finally managed to restore my '99 shogun to stock. When i started 2 months back, i was actually planning on selling it and going for one of the new bikes. Its condition was quite bad and i hadn't particularly taken good care of it. But then xBHP made me realise that i should instead stick onto it and give it a new life.

The total expense was about 15k and the major part of that was thanks to the 0.5 ART piston, original SGP rings and a decent paint job. The rest of the bill included about 45 different items ranging from every single nut/bolt to a new electrical kit. The tyres are still stock (10 yr old!!!), which i plan to change once i recover from this bill.

The bike feels good so far, but i haven't opened it up completely considering its just been re-bored.

I'd like to share some pics. Hope you'll like them.

ps: vasanth, thanks for the tip on the piston/rings!

Great looking bike there mate! i am getting a shogun for like 6k, because it has no papers, and the only thing not original on the bike is that the front fairing is missing. And its fitted with some racing expansion. This is making me itch so badly!!!

Good job mate...Try sourcing the rectangular headlight and the mask, will go better with the paint job.

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
                              The girl said, 'NO!'

And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

                              THE END
