  • My first DIY intake port

This is my first try at intake porting on my 5 speed barell, this porting is done to fix bigger banshee/rz reeds, this crazy idea hooked on my head and i didnt have any fancy tool to do it nor i couldn't afford it, but what the heck i wanted to do it so bought two half round files (one big and other small) and a vernier and completed the work in 15 days time, i would never do this gain nevvverrrrrrr ever the amount pain your wrist gets is simply cannnot be put in words this method is very painfull for your hands, but the finish the outcome cannot be matched to any machinery

i am attaching some pics will be posting more pics tommorow, yet to water mark them.

P.S these snaps shows 90% job completed.

Hi sounds good, but would surely sound a lot better if you could provide a brief explanation as to what Porting is and how it changes the dynamics of the engine?

The stock reeds comes with steel petals

Fixing bigger fibre reeds on a two stroke engine improves the low end torque and there will be a noticable change in your powerband characterstics, say for eg if your engine entering the powerband from 5000rpm on stocks reeds, with these reeds the powerband will start much earlier say 3500rpm onwards, your midrange and topend timings will also see a noticeable difference. 0-60 timings will see a day night difference.

Are there any fiber reeds available for shaolin and if they are do we have to work on the intake as well and probably change the manifold also i guess.
