  • Two-stroke engine direct injection retrofit???!!

Guys I was doing my research on two stroke engine mods and I came across this:

Putting in simple words it is a kit which can be fitted on a two stroke engine to turn it into a direct injection system rather then carbureted one. The advantages include significantly cleaner and much more efficient engine. Now why do we care? If this kit is made available in India then this might prevent the 2 strokes from becoming dinosaur(= extinct) from our roads due to stricter pollution norms as most of the 2 stroke manufacturers have opted to rather give up 2stroke engines altogether then developing/making DI tech available in India (which they have in other countries). Currently this kit is only available in phillipines for Yamaha RS100T only. But envirofit is also currently exploring retrofit projects in other Asian countries such as India, Sri Lanka, China and Thailand. I hope it makes its way to India as quickly as it can.

great idea. whats the power bump like?? and drop in emissions?? but how do they lubricate the underside of the piston?? the crankshaft etc?? its got a dedicated oil feed system or something??

My offerings to the gods of speed -

Don't know much about power bumb as this kit is not marketed for that but there are reports that this kit has improved the performance of the engine too.
About drop in emissions, the retrofit kit reportedly reduces carbon monoxide emissions by 76%, carbon dioxide emissions by 35%, and hydrocarbon emissions by 89% compared to the standard carburetted 2-stroke engine. Also there was fuel efficiency gains of up to 35%, and up to a 50% reduction in lubricating oil consumption. Pretty good hah? About changes in the new oil feed system not much information available on it.

in such kinda bikes....the "independant crank lubrication systems" are used...
A yamaha bike had a similar setup....dont rem the name of the model thou...
it kinda has a small spray system for the crank lubri...which takes the place of the mist lubri system....
