    I still have a 5S RXZ with disk setup and decent engine on sale nearby for 26k
    Like I remarked earlier, buying a completely shot RX for peanuts & then restoring it is actually the way to go. But the problem is spares. If I remember right, I read in your thread that, a friend of yours who owns a Yamaha dealership arranged for spares during your re-build? But for people who might not have that kind of privilege it would be difficult.

    About pricing, that is why I mentioned not to buy it from Bengaluru or other Metro cities. Except Bengaluru, I guess people in most other places live on planet earth My dad bought 2001 RX135 4 Speed for Rs.14,000 in Puri, Orissa.

    Looking for it in interior places and in places where it is not fancied much makes sense.

    Also, most importantly get hold of a Workshop Manual. I will try and upload it later.

    RX100 Workshop Manual. Link is working for now.

        Yes. Made a mention of that in the opening post

        One more thing I remembered, get good quality fuel & 2T oil pipes/cables. 'JC' is widely available but not of good quality. A good quality 2T oil pipe is particularly important.

          Good nitin well don ! nicely Written !

          Would like a just one Point Most bikes / Rebuild go bad or gives problems becos of Usage of Bad Quality of Oil. Your Normal 2T Oil like:
          * Yamalube 2T
          * Shell 2T White/Green Can
          * BP MAK 2T
          * Castrol 2T Racing
          * Indianoil Servo

          are just normal mineral oil,wont give your Engine what Motul can do for a 2T engine,Motul 800 2T is the best Gift you can give to your 2T bike.

          i have said in the past/telling now too,all the bangalore guys can join together can order a crate of Motul 800 (12 cans) from the motul distributor so that we can get a good pricing,everybody seems very happy running the ordinary mineral oil.

            Finally you decide to grace this thread Sorry, no offence meant.

            Problem with 800 is it cannot be used in the pump. I know Pradeep(pyscho) has remarked somewhere in this forum that one can use it just that it will empty early. However, company recommends it only as a pre-mix.

            I think Motul 510 is the best one coz it can be used in both pre-mix & pump forms, FD specification + cheaper. Sadly, still not available in Bengaluru.

                      Motul 510 2T(Rs.425/ltr) Technosynthese is for 2 stroke motorcycles. Smokeless formulation. Oil injection or pre-mix. Compatible with catalytic converters.
                      Standards: API TC – JASO FD/FC – ISO-L-EGD
                      It is the best for regular use with the pump and
                      Motul 800 Factory Line Road Racing/Off Road (Rs.750/ltr) 100% Synthetic is with double ester technology to provide maximum engine performance and prevent binding even under high stresses at high temperature. Pre-mix lubrication only.
                      It works great for long distance rides as i do Mumbai-Pune regularly. I do use both on all my 3 bikes and also recommend the same to other fellow 2-strokers

                      Cheers!!

                        Spare Parts List

                        I am attaching a list containing spare part description, part number & price for the benefit of people who are in the process of buying.

                        It is very very short. I will try to update as and when I can catch hold of them.

                        EDIT: Part numbers beginning from 1L1 are the older lot. Newer ones begin from 36L for RX100. I don't know when the change happened though.

                              the only way to get one for sensible money is to wait patiently.... for a long long time.... the lure of this screamer is such that i have seen thrashed examples without papers go for over 10k... i know a fellow who bought a135 5 speed for about 20k and then set about restoring and rebuilding it for a further 20k changed almost every thing in the bike including the saree guard using only the genuine parts the bike had done over 60k when he bought it but u wont beleive it when u see it... btw the fellow keeps all the replaced parts in their original boxes IN HIS BED-ROOM even today if yamaha is a religion and rx its god then this guy must be a fanatic
