  • some carb facts relating to slide carbs

if the motor has recently been rebored it will probably need the air screws wound in to run. They are lean and need a richer mixture when running in.

Your pilot jets affect the bottom end

Needle clip position affects the midrange

Main Jet affects the top end.

if the fiter kit is much freer flowing you'll probably need bigger pilots to get it to run, but try screwing the pilot screw in 1/2 turn at a time first

Jetting is a trial and error process.
all bikes are different and you have to find the right combination for your machine.

Only change ONE thing at a time.
    get it to idle
    then
    get it to pull
    then get it to REV.

As a guide, pod filters require jetting up on pilots and needles and chambers require jetting up on mains. You have a lot of trial and error to do!

so with this info you can give a hand to rejetting and free flow circuit..but there r several hits and trials before you get a good setup.

          Useful points.
Q: How can you tell whether the second screw on the left side of the carb changes the amount of air flowing or the fuel flow? I mean, in some carbs, it alters the air flow and the fuel flow in others.
And, is this screw anyway related to the pilot jet?

Maybe this thread can be merged with this: http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/pit-stop...ance-mods.html
