    sala y didnt we meet you there man..We spend close to 2 days in Siliguri. Good to see NE people around.

    Add to Darths post there are a few details that can probably help in planning the ride
    PERMITS: IN SIKKIM FOR NATHULA AND FOR GURUDONMARG AND YUMGTHANG IS GIVEN BY THE GOVERNMENT. THEY ISSUE A LETTER OF APPROVAL AND YOU NEED TO TAKE IT TO THE POLICE CHECK POST IN THE DEVELOPMENT AREA AND THEY ISSUE THE PERMITS THEN AND THERE.
    take xerox copies and keep them with you (atleast 4 copies).
    TAKE THE ROAD PERMITS AND RIDE TO THE "BLACK CAT" ARMY POST IN GANGTOK AND HAND OVER TO THE "ISO INTELLEGENCE OFFICER". Personally i met "LT. ARUN KUMAR". WHO WAS VERY HELPFUL AND GAVE US SOME GUIDANCE ALSO ON HOW DIFFICULT THE TERRAIN WOULD BE.
    Total time spend on getting the permits was 2 days. However can be done in a day if u reach early in the morning.
    Sikkim govt. works from 10am to 4pm and so does all the govt officials hence whatever needs to be done can be done only during these times...

    AMS:
    BE HEALTHY AND NO AMS WILL AFFECT YOU. I RECOMMEND THAT BEFORE THE RIDE ALL THE RIDERS SHOULD ATLEAST WARM UP THEIR BODY TO RIDE FOR LONG DURATION. A BIT OF STRETCHING OF THE BODY SHOULD BE DONE.

    WEATHER: PLEASENT AND COLD. SOME PLACES ARE REALLY CHILLY. AND WITH THE WIND HITTING YOU CONSTANTLY THE TEMPERATURE IS WAY BELOW 5 DEGREES. HENCE CARRY WOLLEN WEAR.

    THE RIDE IS NOT TOUGH BUT IT IS VERY TIRING. SO CATCH UP ON PROPER SLEEP AND SNORE AS LOUD AS U CAN AFTER EVERY RIDE.

    WILL TALK ABOUT BHUTAN AFTER SOME DAYS!!

        @darth:-
        Now I remember that I had small chat with in very distant past in 2008 or so. I knw that u were upto smething and this was I expecting from u guys. Really in some shots of North SIkkim ,it just reminded me abt my trip way back in 2007. Well I was just few kms away from Zero point due to landslides n all. And due to less members in the group ,we wernt able to fetch permits for Lake Gurudngmara.
        nevertheless , u guys had done it and done it awsome. pics are just telling the whole story.
        North Sikkim is a place were nature comes at its best and u guys doing the Bhutan trip is also a gr8 fun. The plan u had chartted was very similar of mine that I had planned . Superb !!!
        Its really the passion of riding in hills were every turn teaches u ,preaches u, tenders u to ride more and farther. Thats why I hav fallen in love with hills and very soon I b riding towards them too.
        May my lucky time time come soon. Until then ! Ride safe , take care
