  • A Trip

Have planned a solo trip/ a pillion to Goa next weekend. Just got the delivery of my Apache RTR 180 a week back. Upgraded from an Activa/ Kinetic Honda Y2k. Have ridden a geared motorcycle sparingly before my bike was delivered. So lot of questions!! You should figure dat out by my Alias.

    So the questions are:
    1. Is it really dat difficult to work with gears on NH17, esp on da ghats?
    2. Have a Vega helmet, probably will buy rest of the gear for da trip. I know, Safety is always good/ excellent. Bt with budget constraints, can I look at riding da bike minus all these? Practical opinion, no assumptions.
    3. Will have to service da bike 1ce I reach Goa, Margao. Any authorised service stations in da vicinty??
    4. Leavin ar around 06:00 am (I stay in Seawoods, Nerul). Is it an amazing move?
    5. Spare parts: What all should I carry, considering my bike hasn't been tinkered with/ serviced at all?

Haven't asked the oblivious question, cos I wont listen to da answer, anyways. I.e. Is it advisable to ride such a distance, if I am only comfy with geared vechile for da last 12 days only. BTW, have been riding around Navi Mumbai since I got the RTR. I ridden till Panvel on da Uran phata road at around 02:00 am. and came back without any life endangering situations. So please reply to the official question after considering my experience in da last 12 days or so.

The Wheel was a great invention; Two Wheels with a Motor in between was even better!
