Indeed it was very learning ride with Abhishek bhaiya. I'm sure this ride changed a lot in me. Added patience, control and concentration to me , I even controlled me a lot on curves trailing him. . As a great fellow tourer I wanna ride so many rides with you abhishek bhaiya ..

My side of Story - Day 2

              Route:- Rohru - Chidgaon - Tikkari - Shiladesh - Larot - Chanshal - Tikkari - Rohru

The sound of river water gushing playing music to ears, first thing in morning, is like one step closer to utopia. This is how Rohru has always welcomed me in morning. The joy & satisfaction is unexpressable.

Nevertheless, we had a geater task at hand ahead & I knew that road condition are only going to get worse than what we faced the previous day. I didn't discuss this with Shaantonil - whats the point in crushing the oodles of enthusiasm that he was bursting with in morning.
Brushing my teeth seemed like a task so herculean due to chilled water that I cut short the timing to clean them by half. No issues!!

It was sunny enough & first 15 kms till chidgaon were walk in the park. Once we were ahead of chidgaon, Sun started playing hide & seek.... wherever it was hiding we were shivering. Post Tikkari the fun started. The incline to Chanshal was so steep that just 1km on it & Tikkari seemed what earth would seem from Mars. It was total off road that we were riding on & distance was just not ready to get covered. Nevertheless, slowly but gradually we kept scaling. The black ice was a continous phenomenon, I was enjoying riding on it & Shaan was coping really well.
Snow in patches worked like steroids to eyes, it was christmas & mother Nature welcomed us in its own splendid style. Trees covered with snow, snow on road for long stretches, wheelspin, dragging our steeds where it stuck badly, sunny day yet extremely cold & nothing seen in vicinity. We were looking for some stop where we could have something to eat but whats the possibility of finding something to eat when humans were hard to locate. Minimal and thats exactly how it was!!

The road deteriorated or so to say off-road got better after Shiladesh. I appreciate the intent & patience Shaan was showing. Never did he try to overtake me no matter how slow I was... or shall I take the pleasure in saying that he wasn't able to. Whatever was the case, we kept cruising towards Chanshal & also in search of some joint to feed our hungry bellies. Nothing found at Larot & a passerby assured that we would not find anything to eat on the route which we desired to take. Cool.

Time was passing at speed matchable to speed of Bugatti Veyron & we were covering distance like snail. It was 1pm & Chanshal was still good distance away. With black ice & snow welcoming us with open arms for rest of the path, time really not allowing any liberty or cushion of comfort... we had to take a call. I have takem many risky & adventurous decisions in life but have always refrained from going overboard. There are no arrangements for accomodation at chanshal at this time of year & Dodra another 25 kms from there, 4 pm being the time when it starts getting dark and temp. falling sharply; we decided to turn back. The beauty of such places lies in respecting them, they command it. We knew it very well & so found no point in playing with sanity. Though we couldn't scale Chanshal as per milestone but the satisfaction of having gone such far in such conditions was immense.
Happily disappointed we took U-turn which itself took a lot of time because our hearts were heavy & it was difficult to turn bikes on black ice. The same road being treaded in opposite direction we continued towards Rohru. The hunger had already taken a lot out of us, we rested for sometime on riverbank - 3 kms before Rohru. It was evening when we entered back at Circuit house, bikes dirty like hell, jackets' colour changed from black to brown, we hungry like dinosaurs & heart happy like Louise Lane.

It was an eventful day for both riders. We covered 76 kms in 9 hrs without any break apart from necessary photo-stops. Next day would bring a round of challenges for us, we knew it very well. It was imperative that we start early to reach Delhi on time since I was informed by my friend that fog had started engulfing road as early as 4 pm. Keeping this in mind... we dozed off after few pegs of OLD MONK.

Nice narration! One correction, its Pabber river and not Pabbi! The region you were in is also known as the Pabber Valley.

                  Cheers,
