First of all I want to thanks Nitin/Speedyk for giving me accompany for this beautiful ride and also helping to write this log, after that Aryan for writing such a beautiful log about Lansdowne which encouraged us to go there and not last but least to all the fellow members of XBHP.

As I haven’t introduced my self before in any thread. Let me first introduce myself:

    Name
    : Rohit Kumar

    Occupation
    : Q.A Executive

    Resident of
    : YamunaNagar (Haryana).

    Currently working in
    : New Delhi

    Bike Owned Currently
    : Yamaha YZF-r15 (yellow)

    Riders:
Me (Rohit aka n@pster) & Nitin (Speedyk)

    Bikes
    : Yamaha FZ16 & Yamaha YZF-r15

    Route Taken
    : Ghaziabad-Meerut-Bijnor-Najibabad-Kotdwar-Duggada-Lansdowne

    Back Route
    : Lansdowne-Duggada-Kotdwar-Najibabad-Bijnor-Noorpur-Chandpur-Gajraula-Hapur-Ghaziabad

Here it goes, as this is my first log sorry,if there are language issues and also for pictures quality as we both are not so much in photography…..(Trying a bit to indulge in photography also…..)

We were planning our first bike ride since we both joined Xbhp (me and Nitin/speedyk) but it was always like we made plans and at end we were found resting on our respective beds. Last week again we were planning for a ride, I was keen to go for Lansdowne since I read the Aryan’s log on Lansdowne but nitin and two more friends (Amit and Saurav: both non xbhpians) were eager to go for Nainital, I was alone and they were three so no point arguing and plan was fixed to go for a nainital ride on 17-18 April, 2010. But as the day approached first Amit said that he is not going as he is having some work.

Saurav was supposed to drop his bike for servicing on Friday, On Friday morning we left for our office Nitin in Gurgaon and me for okhla. While in office Nitin pinged me in lunch, that call Saurav and ask him about is he ready for tomorrow or not??…..I called him but no answer…..then after some time nitin called him and ek aur dhauka and he is not coming with us as well.

Then in evening when we came back from office, Nitin asked me what to do? We both looked at each others faces and decided that we are not stepping back and will go, suddenly he started asking about Lansdowne, then I showed him Aryan’s thread of Lansdowne and then we were on for the ride. I set an alarm for 4:45 AM so that we can leave by 5:30 AM.

I was in deep sleep when the alarm rang, I woke up and looked at Nitin, and he didn’t heard alarm as he was in deep sleep. I took the full chance and snoozed the alarm for 10 mins more and slept again but these 10 mins were not enough. the alarm rang again and finally woke up and give a leg to Nitin saying “Uth ja 5 baj gaye hai?” (wake up its 5AM). Then finally we both took bath and packed our bags and guess what Nitin told he has to lube his bike…..it took again 15mins more and it was 6:15 AM when we finally left for Lansdowne……Vrooommmm

We took the route as suggested by Aryan, the cool breeze was blowing and the road was having very less traffic in morning. The bikes were cruising at 80Km/h. Enroute we stopped at cheetal grand for our breakfast but it was too crowdy there so nitin told me lets go ahead and we will stop after some time. Then we stopped at some dhaba “Murti Hot Khana Khazana” it was looking nice but for our surprise it was not. This dhaba was the worst dhaba I have ever stopped.

    Humari Sawari

    The Worst Dhaba @ khatauli

After breakfast we cruised our bikes and reached kotdwar at 11:30 AM the roads between are awesome and we took 1-2 breaks for drinking water.
Then after that it took around 1hour and 15 mins more to reach till Lansdowne. The views enroute were awesome. Finally stopped 5Kms before Lansdowne and took some photographs:

Then we finally reached Lansdowne and at first we straight went to GMVN rest house and they told us that only family rooms are available others are full…..then we choose “Mayur hotel” it was good, then we had some food and took rest till 4PM. After that we went to Army Museum but it was closed as some paint work was going on. Next was Bulla Lake, there were bunch of people doing boating, we explored the near by areas and clicked some pics:

Then we went back and walked in to the market and guess what we got Airtel’s signals therewhich were not present in hotel room……..then done some calls. There was also a theatre Aggarwal Cineplex and the movie showing was “Hum Tum aur Ghost”, luckily both of us haven’t seen this movie so took two special class tickets (32rs each) and come back at Cineplex at 7:30 PM as it was the show time…….But it was our bad luck that we were only two persons and show canceled, manager returned our money and we came back to hotel and watched the IPL match and then slept at 10:30 PM.

Next morning woke up at 8:00AM and then went to Tippin top and Santoshi Maa temple. There we found another GMVN rest house for our surprise. The view and location of this GMVN is very nice.(Will stay here only next time)

    Here are some pics:

Riding is my passion from my college days..when i used to bunk college and go on ride to chandigarh wid ma GF . From then I have nvr looked back. When I started earning I decided to have a new bike and i decided for FZ. Till now i was riding alone but then napster accompanied me on my rides back home (Yamuna Nagar) and finally this trip Lansdowne.

It was my first experience of mountains and guys I loved it. When i was coming downhill the line going in my mind was- "WOW I am Loving it". By this trip my riding keeda has grown more.

@napster: Yes we will be targeting LEH now.

And yes all the credit goes to Xbhp, from where i have learned so much specilay in terms of safety measures while touring.

I enjoyed the pics as much as you guys might have enjoyed the trip

though the thread heading confused me as i was looking for MT-01/V-Max or at least an R1
