Thanks Biru..CBZ was with a friend, Vikas (Vikas the shokeen biker from the other forum). Had his R-15 for sometime. And Rajasthan enticed me all the more to take the R-15 along. It's fun on good roads, enjoyed it thoroughly

Thank you for the welcome Shravan. I did this ride in November last year, and did Jodhpur then. Shall come up as the log unwraps further.

P.S - You've got great bargaining skills Vaibhav Sir !

@Sravan Chaudhary : Brother avoid quoting the entire log in your post !
Thanks. Travelers like us need to have that knack for bargaining otherwise sustaining a ride every month would be too harsh on the pocket. And riding out every month is as necessary as breathing. Can't compromise on that

How did the R15 do on the sand? Any tips you'd like to share that you got off your little 'married' friends
    Thanks Parth.

While ascending and even while riding atop a dune, keep the bike in a higher gear and do-not put your foot down even if the rear fishtails, you wont fall. This was an important tip that they told me

                      My hut from the inside:

                      Sunrise at Sam:

There was an entry fee for the bike which I duly paid at the entrance. There is a kuldara resort which is near to the entrance, but the actual village is about a kilometer deeper.

                      Kuldhara

It felt creepy in here. The place was deserted, seemed haunted and walls looked like they were staring at me. I felt a bit awkward for the first time in the tour. There was no other human soul there, no tourists nothing. I thought that tourists would give this a pass. Enchanting enough!

An ancient temple but reconstructed walls

                      The ancient deity perhaps

                      Badabag

Spent around 20 mins there and headed off back to Jaisalmer. Went straight to the hotel where I 'aaraam farmaaya' for around 2 hours. The best part of the hotel was there was independent parking available! A boon for a motorcycle tourer. Couple of hours later, fit as a fiddle, I head off for the Jaisalmer fort.

The fort was less of a fort and more of a residential area. Crowded to the hilt and messed up at places. However the fort museum was good

Some pics inside the fort and the museum

                      Some views from the top:

A local kid who actually stopped me and asked me to capture him!

I then moved on to the govt. managed haveli, which was in a sorry state.

Filled to the brim, I walked out of Chandan Shree, thinking of where to go next. It was around 3 Pm. The devil in my brain cajoled me in swerving the crotch rocket towards Tanot/Ramgarh whereas the angel in me politely asked me to head back to the hotel and take some well deserved rest!

After years of ignoring his voice, that day I decided to go with the angel!

Hotel room it was then. Befriended the caretaker, named Alam. A very interesting and helpful fellow. He told me a lot about the way of life in Jaisalmer. You could leave your stuff out on the road and go for dinner only to come back and find your stuff still intact! Striking contrast to Delhi!

Anyways, the rest of the day was spent lazing in the room, watching TV. Got myself a couple of beers to cool off the rising temperatures! For dinner, I was interested in fine dining. Alam told me an excellent rooftop restaurant where I could gobble on authentic Rajasthani gourmet under a starry night with candlelight adding romance to the ambience!

Thanks. Did not face any issue with the chain, though did find it tough with those soft compound tyres.
