Chalo koi baat nahi waterfall nahi hai to....reservoir se hi kaam chala lete hai...!!

This ride was not posted pre-crash. It is never posted. By the time I start of posting the log, the server crashed. It might be that the pics resemble a bit of my old thread "a trip to rain-hit villages" which was full green, as is the current one going to be.

Ride Report

Pocharam is situated around 100 km from Hyderabad in Medak District. It is very famous for wild-life santuary. There is a small lake with a dam, which is a famous habitat for some rare birds. There are two routes, one via narsapur x roads and the other via NH-7. We chose the NH-7 as our route.

It was August 15, Independence Day. The touring bug bit almost all the notable xbhp members of Hyderabad. Three other rides happend at the same time involving Ravikiran, Sumit, Boo, HydBiker, and Kriss. I was not ready for a two-day ride, and I was left alone for the weekend. As the luck favoured me, got a call from Adithya, who expressed himself for a weekend ride. I was happy to accept the call. We finalized 'Pocharam Dam' as our ride destination.

On the day, we found the weather to be cloudy and excellent for a joyous ride. It was just after monsoon, and we were expecting lush green surroundings. We started a bit late around 8:30 am. We both met at NRSA at Balanagar and rode towards Medchal, NH-7. The roads were four-lane and the ride was smooth and relaxed. Stopped at Medchal and had breakfast. We started around 10:00 am from Medchal and started towards Ramayampet, where we take left turn which leads to Pocharam and Medak. We stopped at two places to take some pics. We were over-joyous seeing those lush green everywhere and never thought Hyderabad's surroudings would be so good in monsoon. Some pics on the four-lane highway.

After around 60 km, we reached Ramayampet and took left turn towards Pocharam. The road was a narrow single lane surrounded by lush green farm lands. After some time, the farms were replaced by forest. We found some narrow way into the fields and rode into that and found a superb place with paddy fields and forest. We were completely mesmerized by the serenity and calmness at the place. There was a small hut and a cart. Had it rained at the place, it would have been beautiful. The following pictures would show you the surroundings there.

We turned back after spending around 45 minutes there.

We hit the road again and soon the road turned to be very good, and we did 100kmph easily.
