Did you not read Agumbe - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia before venturing into Agumbe like that?

Agumbe has the 2nd highest rainfall in India (After cherapunji.) You must have also seen Hotel Cherrrapunji right next to the checkpost..

Agumbe has the highest no. of King Cobras per sq.ft. all over India.

Agumbe is a Naxalite area since 2005.

What were you thinking when you ventured there alone? Also, did nobody tell you? We were given a thorough warning by the securty at the checkpost after he made us all remove all gear for examining who we were (due to security reasons).
Advice is a form of nostalgia.
Dispensing it is a way of fishing the past from the disposal, wiping it off, painting over the ugly parts and recycling it for more than it's worth.

@Antz: I had discussed with fellow bikers from XBHP (dnt want to quote any names) on the route to Mangalore. No one had mentioned that it was infested with Naxalites, nevertheless I found out later that they come out only in the night, not during the day. I can probably make do with cobra's (Had found one at my uncle's backyard in Goa a couple of years ago). More or less if you travel via Shimoga towards Mangalore you would have to bypass Agumbe But nevertheless it was an experience of a lifetime and I am content for the moment..

@Biru: I have spent a week writing this bro...suprisingly its still so fresh in my mind like as if its just happened yesterday. By the way your saddle bags were extreamly handy and I better get myself a similar one before I get any wrong ideas. Thanks a ton again for helping out, I realised that you had also done a ride and was feeling bad that you did not have the bags avaliable for you..
Please let me know where and when I can return it before I get tempted for another ride
