ya.........well............that was way back in 2001, and actually gearless scooter are quite easy to ride on extra long tours because you just have to hold the throttle, without worrying about gearshifts.Originally posted by 21guns View PostNagpur to delhi on kinetic honda

One question. HOW THE HELL??? This is purely FABOLOUS !! Spiti on Scooter that too on a decade old one !! You must be having will made of Titanium !!! BRAVO! Deep respect to you. This cannot end so soon. Please share more. I am just so eager to see all the pics & read your travelouge. Please keep sharing.Originally posted by narender View PostAgainst all odds,I rode to Dreamland
Almost zero experience in long riding.
No riding gear.
An 11 eleven years old scooter fit only to be scrapped.
Out of three tyres, two are near bald.
I had a fall then had a second fall.
Got stalled in the middle of water crossing with shoes submerged in chilly water.
Had a puncture.
Had to drive in night to find a hotel.
And guys it was still winter out there.
Butts kept burning all the time.
But I finally made it.

As I am typing this,my mouth's expanded to such an extent that I feel like I can accommodate my Dentist's clinic in it and my eyes resemble that of a St.Bernard!
.Kudos to your determination and respect for your vehicle!Good pictures, excellent organisation of the good pictures and awesome presentation of the excellently organised compilation of good pictures
.Also,a note of appreciation to all the engineers and technicians of Bajaj for this timeless classic. Please cut short my anxiety and do complete the log as soon as possible.

Day3 Tapri to Nako 25 march 2011
Puncture at Pooh has eaten into valuable time and I am now actually entering into the barrend topography of Spiti.
Deep canyon, bare grey mountains, long deserted passage, chilly wind drying my skin.
Overall maza aa raha tha.
Then came a sign board announcing Namgia.A 'y'fork it is.If i go straight it is Nako,if I take right it is Namgia,Khab,Dogri village and finally Shipki La end of Hindustan-Tibet road.
I am all alone,no other creature for miles..An old vehicle.Herat pounding with anxiety.
Lets take right detour. You dont come here often.
Y fork for Shipki La.Right goes to Tibet 30 kms away

I went to Khab village through this gate.Met two local mother-daughter there.Village was almost devoid of residents.

Me going towards Shipki la.I am very terrified at this moment. All alone for miles and a very sensitive border.

Closely see,a green roof at top of the pic is Khab village

Me at Y FORK
