  • All states touring places

Hi Mod , though this section is useful in sharing one's experience about the trip, i feel it becomes tough for anyone who wants to search for places in this section. For example if i want to get info on various places in Andhra which our members have already toured i need to search the whole section. My thinking is that we keep a sticky thread in THE TOURER which has sections devided by state. Like Andhra Predesh, karnataka , within these sections members will PM the mod the link of the trip log they went along with the Trip name . Something like below one :

    Andhra Pradesh Trips:
    1) Araku trip
    2) Horesly Hills trip

    Karnataka:

    1) Coorg
    2) Udipi

This may help people to know the route, road conditons and other places of interest . It might also help people know that there are actually many interesting places than they actually know. You may also include the link in this section when ever a new trip log comes under the relevant state, just like an index for trips under state categories.

If you find this good start a thread else

unfortunately that will be the case here too.too many states too many places of interest

I have been meaning to start one for maharashtra too just like "3-4 day getaway from delhi" but than realised it too will turn out to be complicated for someone perusing the pages for the 1st time

^You can start one from Mumbai and then post links of information on the first post of the thread as and when information increases, just like Ken has done on the "3-4 days getaways from Delhi" thread.

This way if a newbie stumbles upon the thread, he can choose the place from a collection list on the first post itself, and browse directly to the place where the detailed information about that place is posted.

Guys can we start a thread with all links in the first post ? Do we need to wait a bit longer for more suggestions?

              Instead of Mods doing it..
We, users can suggest places in the states we been & link it to our logs. This will make the task much easier for us & the mod too.

but the whole purpose of keeping it in one post will be washed out . Person coming into this section should find all these links on the firs post or atleast in the first page. Just like an index

                      Separate section for "TRIP PLANNING"

Perfect timing of this post pabi.

A few weeks back I had also made a suggestion to Sunny as follows:

If you open a new head in Sub-Forums preferably just below 'The Tourer' as "Trip Planning" and inturn put 6 sub-divisions in it like North Region, West Region, Central Region, South Region, East Region and General Section. (the general section would be for trips involving multi-regions, all-india trip etc). The aim of this 'Trip Planning' section is for people to put up their queries on whatever pre-trip questions in that specific section so that it is easier for searching in future also. For Example if I put up a thread in South Region to plan a trip covering Karnataka, Kerala & TN, so guys from the respective states can answer my queries related to those separate states. Also, its easier in future to look thru/search in that Region for your trip within those states.

MODS: Can we request to sticky this thread so more members will see and give their inputs & suggestions

^^ Yes, isolating it will be sensible & less cluttered.
Will look nicely classified. Sub-Topics will definitely help. This will avoid random topics in "Help Me" section related to touring.

thats very nice suggestion to divide into sub sections [following divide and rule policy ]. Also it would be good if each sub-section would have links[trip logs] to famous touring places in that region [which was my first intention for this discussion] .

                              any other suggestion guys?
