Hello all,
I am planning to make a solo trip from Chennai to Kanyakumari around mid June. No fixed duration.
Would appreciate any guidance you can give me regarding the following:
1) Best routes to take : scenic, least trafficked, good asphalt, not necessarily the shortest.
2) Places to stay : clean, comfortable, reasonable rates, nothing fancy.
3) Necessary gear to carry : safety, spares etc...
Bearing in mind that the journey is more important than the destination. I would really like to avoid the cities where possible.

I didn't understand the question. If you want to avoid the cities for what? Enroute or staying? You can take NH45 all way from Chennai & you can do Chennai-K'mari around 12 hours.
