Destination: Primary destination is Siliguri and then a relaxed ride to Lataguri, entrance of Gorumara National Park.73kms from Siliguri
Now the details:
After thoroughly checking the current condition of NH34(From different sources), I decided to start at 21.00HR from Home and have to reach Siliguri within 6.50HR to beat the train by time.(my target is 9HR 30MINS).NH 34 is one of the most important National Highway which connect Kolkata to North Bengal.No 34 is upto Dalkhola and then NH31 starts which goes up to Amingaon (outskirts of Guwahati, Assam). NH31 is a four lane highway like GQ up to Kishangunj and then it turned into single lane both way except few more kilometers after Islampur.The present condition of NH 34 is more or less satisfactory. One can ride 80-105kms per hour constantly except few stretches.Naturally in Day condition it is not possible to cover those crowded places of rural bengal, that's why I choose the night hours to complete the Speed Run. All I can say is 'Its tough...really tough!'
As for the documented prove I will use ATM's receipt for 2-3 times.One at the starting point and then at Malda, last one is at Siliguri.
Planned the ride in October, November this year if everything goes smooth. __________________
