Ketan bhai, as you had mentioned earlier on this thread that your bike performed well for the complete trip. I think this had reinforced my decision to purchase this bike in the near future.

Which engine oil did you use for your bike? I mean there was no need to change the oil.. :O :O

Yup, even I consider myself lucky to have visited that place but then I had to wait for 2 long years to fulfill my dream. The frustration of not being able to make it in first was something I can't explain but then whatever happens, happens for a reason. May be I would have missed a good co-rider like Mandar had I gone to Ladakh in 2010 season. Am sure you'll soon visit Ladakh on your bike and do feel free to contact me anytime for any help.

Shivanshu bhai, yaha thode kaam mein fase hai isi liye log complete nahi ho pa raha. Anyway there aren't any exciting pics left as there were in these past installments cause anyway last 2 days were pure rip fest on 8 lane highways. Still I'll try to finish it as soon as possible.

I used Castrol Power 1 fully synthetic engine oil during this ride. It performed well.

Can you tell us, how was your experience riding R15 to Ladakh? Did you use the original soft tires or did you change them? If you did what were they? If you have an option, which other bike would you prefer for Ladakh trip?
Sorry for so many question. I am taking R15 to Ladakh in 2012 and want to prepare myself and the bike.

I personally didn't face any problem at all while riding in Ladakh. The slightly aggressive riding position may become a problem to some riders, especially in rough sections of Ladakh region. Apart from that I didn't face any problem. FI ensured smooth start up every morning. Even the torque was good enough in most high mountain passes.

I used the same soft compound tire at front, MRF Zapper FY if am not wrong and for rear I used IRC tire. Forgot the model name but will post it tomorrow after checking cause my bike's still running on the same tires. It's a 110 section tire. Rear tire provided very good grip in mud/slush and even gravel. No major puncture problems.

Personally I feel almost any bike can be used for Ladakh ride but given a choice I would take Pulsar 220(Fuel Injection version). Good riding position, excellent headlamp setup, Good power and torque, decent fuel efficiency means better range, good ground clearance, Fuel Injection means less/no start up problems.
