    Hi there,

Just came back from a trip on my Karizma(odo reading 5400)starting from delhi on 12:30 am 2nd oct and came back on 5th oct.
I rode whole night ,next evening aroud 5:30 pm after continous riding I reached a place called yang thang around 100 km short of Kaza.
Next day Crossed merling nullah which is closed(Guess How), reached Kaza in the evening.Stayed there.
Next day started from Kaza went to manali. Stayed there. Kaza Manali is one of the most difficult terrain from bikers bacause for 120 km, there are no tarmac roads. But place is worth going.
On 5th Started from Manali in the morning 9:00 am reached delhi around 5:30 in the evening.

I suggest every adventure seeker ( biker) must go there once in life.
    Some tips-

    1. Never go there alone as I did. Silence there kills you.
    2. You can get sunburn and frost bite at the same time.So take woolens as well as sunburn cream of degree 20-25.
    3. If ur tyres are not new, have a tyre repair plan in place since you will have to ride on road equivalent to stony railway track for aprox 120 km.

    4. This ride is not for comfort seekers. It is for pure adventure lovers.

Tyke- Have you started your journey? I guess you were planning to go there in 2nd- 3rd week of oct.
There is public transport available but very slow. Merling nullah has been washed off. You will have to change the Shimla-Kaza bus from there as busses swap passengers there and turn back.

I crossed my bike through ropeway. Will share pics with you soon. -

                    Hi rash_rp

I started on 1st night or 2nd morning at 12:30 am.
Reached yangthang around 670 km from delhi, at 5:30 pm on 2nd oct.I stayed there that night thinking of returning to Delhi next morning since Merling nullah is still closed and no-one (even people on foot) can cross it. Busses from and to simla kaza swap passengers at either ends and turn back. Passengers have to trek for 5 km in mountains to reach there.

Next morning crossed my bike via spane (what locals call it). That was a rope way with small open trolley for porting cement bags from one mountain to another.

Had to pay Rs 500/- for my bike to cross the mountain through that thin wire. trolley was removed and my bike was hung instead. This took a long time in persuading trolley operaters and other stuff. Got free from here and crossed that mountain at 2:00pm
                    (will post that interesting pic)
Then after around 100 km of ride, reached Kaza.

Stayed there that night. Loveliest place I had ever seen before.

Next morning left for manali. that 210 km took me 8 hrs of continous riding.
Stayed there. After that tarmac road seems like a luxury. Next morning 5th oct left manali at 9:00 am reached Delhi at 5:30 pm.

Sorry for delay in response. I'll scan pics asap and would post it to sunny.

                    Cheers

                    Vivek
