After the last ride to Mekedatu, I was anxious to ride Hogenakkal. But weather and my bike both did not supported me. Had some vibration with the fering, tried fixing that on a Saturday and the left mirror nut got screwed up. I was disappointed with the bike and finally took half day leave on last Thursday and fixed that problem by griding the existing nut. Any way let's not talk about those now.
Friday I was checking the routes and found couple of short cuts after Hosur via Rayakotta and Palakodu. But I was not sure about those routes, so I decided to head till Dharmapuri and there after take the right diversion to Hogenakkal. This time one of my brother's college senior and his wife were joining us, so communicated the ride details along with some other safety details. While returning from office, I filled the fuel and checked the tire pressure. I packed my accessories in the night and went to sleep at 10.30 PM after having a light dinner.
It was 3.30 AM my alarm banged my ears and helped me to get out of my dreams. By the time it was 4.30 AM, we geared up ourself, reset the trip meter and left for the meeting point. Alok joined us at around 4.40 AM and we had a small discussion near the AXIX ATM, Jibanbima Nagar. Finally at around 5 AM, we started our journey.
We took the inner ring road to Hosur Road followed by the Electronic City fly over. We paid Rs. 20/- per bike at the toll gate for two way journey. It was dark and quite cold, Alok did not have proper winter gears and light, so faced some problem. Thanks to my HID, I could able to help Alok a bit by riding behind him. He was happy with the HID. This time sun cheated us and got hided behind the clouds.
. Yes it was bit cloudy so we missed the sunrise. After Hosur, we stopped at a location to get refreshed and wasted some time waiting for the sunrise. But no luck and we started again to have breakfast at the same location, where I had last time on the way to Yelegiri. Reached "ARS Vaasavi Classic Hotel" at around 7 AM. Rava dosa is special here, so I suggested all to have. The dosa with a complementary vada was really nice followed by a typical Tamil Nadu tea.

At around 8 AM, we started onwards. It was a nice straight road with a bright pleasant sun rays. As Alok is a new rider, I was enjoying the ride at speed of 60 - 70 kmph. Just before Karimangalam, we stopped again for some photography.

Nice and empty road unlike the ride to Coorg.

Now it is posing time.
With out any delay, we started again and reached Dharmapuri in 1 hour. It was around 9 AM and we were punctual as per the plan and hoping to hit Hogenakkal at around 10 AM. Till Dharmapuri the road condition was awesome and was temping us to continue straight to Kanyakumari.

Straight was Kanyakumari, can plan some time.

Posing time for the bike.
It was one way from Dharmapuri till Hogenakkal and was bit busy, but condition of the road was good. Village people use this road for their crops(ragi) to get dried up. So need to be careful. We crossed Indur and reached Pennagaram at around 9.30 AM. From Pennagaram, we took the left diversion to the forest. We paid Rs. 10/- each bike to get in to the forest. The forest was unlike the western ghat forest. The bushes, shrubs and trees are full of spikes with less leafs like we normally get in eastern ghats. I saw a tube well and stopped to fill water. As the day was moving, we started feeling the crunching heat.

Posing with my bike.

I went to piss by the road side and saw the elephant foot prints.

Enfield guys never accept that R15 is a better choice.

There is enough place in that ghat to hang out.

After a painful surgery, still reliable.
After reaching there, we came to know there is two water falls one is Tamil Nadu falls and the other is Karnataka Falls, which is known as "Niagara of India" and we need to take one of the Coracle boat to reach the place. The government pricing for boating is Rs.50/- and Rs.100/- per head for 1.5 and 3 hours. But the boat guys were asking for Rs.1000/- for full boat. After a long negotiation, finally we gave up and settled down for Rs. 500/- for the full boat and started the boat ride. This is the same place where Roja, Asoka and Ravan got shot. The water depth is quite unexpected here, some where 3-4 feet and some where 150 feet. The whole trip also consists of some trek. The boat man used drop us on different areas to cross the rocks and he used to carry the Coracle on this head.

This is the place to take one of the boats.

This is the place where the Bolywood movies got shot.

Tamil Nadu falls.

One side of the river is Tamil Nadu and other side of the river is Karnataka. This is Karnataka and Mysore is 150 KM from here.

Niegara of India
It was 2 PM and we were so hungry. So right after the boat ride, we started for the return journey. I was aware of the fact that there is no place before Krishnagiri to settle down the stamach. So we refreshed ourself with some lemon juice followed by some snacks. On the way back, I stopped again at the same tube well to get refreshed and fill water. It was around 3.20 PM we reached Dharmapuri and able to reach the same break fast place at Krishnagiri at around 4.00 PM. I was not happy because, I had missed the Tamil Nadu traditional meal, but chapati, butter paneer masala and jeera rice did not miss to put their impression. After having ice cream, we started at around 5.00 PM. Morning sun rise was disappointed, but sunset was good and we ran out of battery.
