Prologue

I went crazy, my heart stopped at that msg! I felt that i should go, but again i had my doubts about my parents letting me go.

I woke up, switched on my lappy and initiated a fund transfer, i needed cash for the trip!

i couldnt sleep all night! Finally it was day and i went up to my dad and told him about the trip. He said - "Ok, but it will be stressful." i said that i didnt mind, so that was phase one of approval.

My mom was out of town so i couldn't get her permission immediately, i doubted that she will let me go. finally, i called her later and i told her about the trip. She said ok in a sorta tone that said - i'll come home n deal with you!

She got home the next day and i told her about the trip. She said ok, enjoy, just stay safe. I really couldnt believe her! I didnt stress further on this because anything might come in my way.

I sent an sms to Ambi saying that i'll be making the trip, he was happy and we started with the preparations

Pre Ride Frenzy

I called my cousin in Bangalore and i told him that i was coming. He was shocked, but then he told me to drive safe and come slow. I spoke to another cousin and he was totally against me going to bangalore on a bike!

He totally wanted me to go by bus or train and started talking to my mom about not letting me go. Finally, he found out that it was of no use!

I had to get some riding gear. Stuff like a jacket, a pair of gloves and a new visor for my helmet were an absolute necessity. I went in search of them!

Got a pair of decent gloves in Mount Road, Chennai, borrowed a friend's jacket and also bought a new visor for my helmet.

The next few days were filled with talk about preps and other safety precautions. We were constantly messaging each other and updating each other.

Finally it was thursday! He msgd me around noon and asked me if i could start the very same day! I was totally against it as i'm sure that my parents wont let me drive at night. We finally decided that we would start at 4AM on friday.

With alarms set at 3AM, we woke up, went ahead for our daily routines and got started. It was around 3.50 when i got a msg saying that he reached our meeting point. Toyota showroom near Koyumbedu.

I told him that i was starting and that i will reach in the next 15 mins max.

I went forward to the bike, and i thumbed the started. It sprang to life in one click. Letting it idle, i put on the last of my gear, said bye to my parents and zoomed away. Around 5 mins into the ride, my phone rings, it was Ambi!

He asks - " where are you??" i said i started, i''ll be there in less than ten mins. 5 mins later, i get another missed call. Convinced that it's him, i don't stop to answer the call. Went ahead and reached our meeting point.

He was there and we started in the next 20 mins.

So far, so good... Keep it comming...

When my ride was next day i.e on Friday still i didnt tell about this to my dad Only my mom knew about this and she told only if Dad says okay you should go i

just nodded my head and went to college. I was thinking what to tell to my dad whole day in the college.After coming home my dad called me and told you should

not goto banglore this weekend.I was like WTF..?? Who told this to him.Why he's saying this,many questions came to my mind,as usual started fighting with him

after sometime called my bro and asked what happened.He told after mom told about your ride he called your college principal and told about this :O my princy told

he's got exams next week so do not allow him anywhere till exams are over.. I got damn angry and the fight got big now. While all this was happening message

came from goutham that he changed his Engine oil and filled full tank in Shell..:P I thought what if i dont ride tomorrow. okay i will tell him to ride alone then..:P as

he will get disappointed at the last moment if i say we are not going to make it. Then i got an idea by calling one of my friend asking him to tell my dad that we are

going by car and will reach chennai by sunday mor.. Somehow he got convinced and i started packing my stuffs Meanwhile because of problem at my place i

forgot to change engine oil service my bike which has run 3000kms already since lat serviceand didnt fill the tank. Bike was in reserve with no bunks opening at

early morning and my ride was at 4 A.M..Stay tuned for what happened next day..

it's friday friday....!

and yes, it was finally friday...!

My phone started shouting that it was 3, i woke up, and i was getting ready.

Ambi sends me a msg asking me if i work up, i replied yes. My mom and dad too woke up to wish my luck

Finally it was around 3.50 when i started. I went outside with my parents and my little brother, inserted the key into the Black Pearl and thumbed the starter. the engine came to life.

I let it idle and by the time i had my gear on, it was pretty warm. i said bye to my family and i was off, for the ride of a life! I met ambi at the toyota showroom off CMBT. He gave me some ideas and soon we were off.

He was in the lead and i was following him. Once it was daybreak we increased our speed to 80+ and we were zooming past other vehicles.

Finally we came to a halt after driving for nearly an hour.

I checked on my bike and i saw a little smoke from the engine, yes SMOKE from the engine. I was tensed but i knew that it was because the AF mixture was too lean. I adjusted it to a richer mixture, we took some snaps and we were off again.

Gr8..! Parking right under the 'No Parking' sign..!!!
