The roads are wide and in very good condition. There is no frequent need for gear shift and stuff..

Regarding the Kollam-Sherthala Road, it's ok.. Some bad patches when you are in Haripad.. but other than that it's pretty good!!!

aargee... i am planning to ride to Chennai probably on December fro Trivandrum. I was thinking of the ECR route. Do you have any idea about the road condition there and the surrounding?

Or can you suggest any other route...

@aargee.,, I think he meant the road condition from Ernakulam to Thrissur(not towards Palakkad)..And he took a left from Mannuthy to enter Thrissur town I guess and continued on NH17 ..(i'm guessing)..

The NH47 stretch from Thrissur to Palakkad(towards Cbe) is still in the same shape you would've guessed it to be aargee(Pretty bad! ).

It's just like avk84 described it to be till Mannuthy. You just have to hold on to your accelerator and do nothing . But after that, it's pot-hole territory till Vadakkenchery.

Its not only about the road,Its the traffic added with heat, which is a real pain.

                  Cheers

                    Thanks Satyen....

I have a couple of pics of the road... will upload it soon... The Kozhikode-Kannur Stretch is manageable during day time. But it's very difficult to ride in night. Also some patch works were going on there.. hope they will at least fill the big pot holes...

As far as Kannur-Kasargod is concerned... the roads are not wide... but other than some bad patches here and there, the road is good

Yep... you are right. The heat is manageable though if we are in move... but the rash driving by private buses (They actually ride like bikes, entering into the slightest of gap in a traffic!!! ) is the main trouble in this road... That coupled with bad roads!!!! well you can imagine

If you are lucky enough then the roads will be good by then.By good I didn't meant anywhere near the NH's running outside Kerala

May be the enfield's and the riding posture helped. I didn't have any sort of body pain during or after the trip. And I did wear a Lumbo Sacral Belt for lower back support.

                            DAY 2Fishing!!!

Finally I got up by 10.00 am and both I and midhun went to take a walk on the pavement.Smijith was still sleeping and we had to lock him up.

                            Guest House

                            Aerial view

Splashing wavesWe tried to capture some with the camera, but still picture has its limitation.

I witnessed one of the most beautiful sunset. I could literally see the sun disappearing into nowhere.

We saw a marriage album shooting. It was like a music album and was fun to watch with husband running in slow motion to the wife and then running back.

                            Some more pictures

                            The Moon is up

There is a temple of on the entrance of fort.

It was getting late and the fort timing was over. But we were in no mood to leave this place and given a chance

Mine is a medical one... I got it from a friend of mine who had back problem. It's not for protection against a fall, but will provide reasonable lower back protection. You can get a similar one from any medical stores, and it will cost you less than 750Rs, I believe
