Saturday nught with nothing else to do called up Krunal to see what his plans were for the Sunday, he was free till 10:00 AM Only so convinced him for a short trip of upto 100 KM from Ahmedabad, Nalsarovar is what we ended up finalizing.
Posted a comment on the Facebook page for xBHP Gujarat and also called up Ankit whom I had met in the afternoon and was eager for a ride.
Then called up Sharad who had just returned from a trip from the North East, after some hard core convincing got him ready for the ride.
The last person I thought would come was the Birthday boy Amit Panchal, left him a message on FB and in no time got his confirmation albeit with a condition that I wake him up in the morning.
So the plan for Nalsarovar was finalized with 4 Bikes and 5 Bikers starting off from Mansi cross roads as that is the best place to get fuel in the wee hours. 5:00 was decided as the departure time as we wanted to catch the sunrise there on the banks of the Scenic Lake which also is home to a lot of Migratory birds from across the world in the Winters.
Morning 4:00 on Sunday I call up Amit and he pick up in the first ring itself, the I call up Krunal to see if the is awake or not as I had to pick him up from his home, his bike is never guaranteed to work so he planned to ride pillion with me. The guy never picks up even after repeated efforts not just by me but also Amit.
We assemble one at the meeting point pump fuel in the steeds and start off around 5:30 from Ahmedabad taking the SG Highway and then heading towards Sanand. SG highway is very well lit and we had no issues with Sharad leading on his RTR Fi and I tailing with my P220.
Once we took the exit towards Sanand Sharad's speeds started to drop to something like a snails crawl could not take it any longer so took lead and started ripping the bike on a road which was as smooth as butter but pitch dark and in no time Sharad caught up just to tell me that his head lights are not helping and that we slow down a bit.
We reached Sanand and took the road going to Nalsarovar which is 42 KM from there and a total of 65 KM from Ahmedabad. Again the road was just awesome, butter smooth with no traffic what so ever and hardly any cattle or stray dogs around, I could sense Ankit's urge to Rip his CBR250R and the same was the case with Amit on his Bull. Signaled Amit to take the lead and stayed back at the tail.
Reached NAlsarovar just in time for the Sunrise and had some tea - coffee and chips before we approached the Toll gate for entering Nal Sarovar.
Enjoyed the Sun rise and then reached the Toll gate, charges per person is a nominal 25 on weekends and 20 on week days, paid our share.
The bird Sanctuary and other attractions are on smaller island in the lake and the only means of transport to these spots are bamboo propelled boats, the boats are such so that they make no noise what so ever and hence not disturb the birds. We were in no mood for the boat rides as we were very tight on our schedule and over and above that I had forgotten my cam at home.
Sat and enjoyed the views from the banks till 8:00 AM all the while being bugged by the boatwalas bargaining with us.
Left the lake at 8:00 with all 4 bikes ripping till we reached Sarkhej cross road where we had our breakfast of some mixed bhajjis and dispersed.
