Just out of cuiousity, i thought that in run-in you are suposed to vary the rpm regularly (thats i think is the true motive, so that the piston and the walls blend properly), how you managed to do that on straights.

and man, you did a good job keeping below 3k all night .. but isnt it too low? so you did all 600k around 70kmph only
Whatever doesn't kills me only makes me stronger....

Congrats Dude on your new ride and first solo trip and Hats off to your patience I mean how could you keep control on your throttle on NH 8

I could not keep myself below 120 on that road at least till we entered MH border

Yes the motive to vary rpm is for the various parts to blend in properly and the power to be distributed through all rpms. Only initially I was riding below 3k, then once on Highway, I was maintaining 3k-3.5k and then during the end it was 3.5k-4k. Even on straights I used to get slow after riding at 3.5ks and then once rpm used to come down, again slow acceleration. I just went to 80kmph once at 500km and came back down, rest whole trip was in 40-55kmph with occasional touches to 60 that too only during return journey. I used to drive in 4th as well as 5th gear also in lower rpms.

Thanks dude...Actually intention was set before even the start of journey. This trip was for running-in and not vice versa. So I could manage driving at low speed whole night. Yes the temptation to open the throttle was very much there but I was successful in deceiving myself into believing that I would be opening my throttle on the same road in a few days after completion of running-in.

              Congrats mate.
And what can I say about your patience!
              Can I borrow some, please?
Money can get a 1942 BSA these days, but even Warren Buffet's whole Bank account can't get us our leg back!
