just had a look at log at following link-

Where did you turn back from for Rampur? As per info I have, after wangtoo, there is no route to manali.Did you turn after Rampur towards aut? Pls update me if it is there. Did you travel through Jalori Pass?

As I have posted I went from Shimla to Kaza and then to manali via Rohtang and Kunzum pass, I would like to post some pics. Please tell me how can I do that. If you did not touch spiti valley, you missed something. But the place you have travelled is also great.

                        Hi,
The pics and the places in it are very beautiful. The bikes look cool too! And the fact that u'r bikes gave u no problems at all is very impressive on part of the manufactures(HH) and the owners(u guys).
                        I had a few questions:
                        1) Did u ever had fuel problems or there were enuf petrol bunks at the right intervals?
                        2) What stuff did u carry with u'r self and how did u carry them?
If u used shoulder bags, then wasn't driving with them on the shoulders tiring?
                        3) U must have prepared u'r bikes for the long trip before leaving. What all thing did u check?
                        4) U must have driven on the twisting narrow mountian roads in the nights. What all precautions did u take and what did u learn abt driving on such roads?
                        5) Have u read "Zen and the art of Motorcycle maintanence" by Robert.M Pirsig?
Hope Iam not asking 4 too much....

                        Regards
                        Vivek

                          1) Did u ever had fuel problems or there were enuf petrol bunks at the right intervals? -ahh, man! we were running on reserve once and it scare the hell out of us, the next petrol pum was deemed by the locals aroung 60kms, we conserved the fuel by switching off he engine and using the potential energy of the slants, that was scary! he zmas do drink lots of petrol man!
                          2) What stuff did u carry with u'r self and how did u carry them?
If u used shoulder bags, then wasn't driving with them on the shoulders tiring?-we used mini backpacks, and yes we used to moan, the packs were heavey, nothing major in them except clothes, and yes my camera equipments, mobile chargers, credit cards etc
                          3) U must have prepared u'r bikes for the long trip before leaving. What all thing did u check?-we checked our brakes, any leaks, tightened all nuts, the tyres, the lights
                          4) U must have driven on the twisting narrow mountian roads in the nights. What all precautions did u take and what did u learn abt driving on such roads?-one thing u r right is t hat u have to learn to drive on such roads, it takes a heavy mental and physicall toll, especially of the bikes, it felt that we were testing the bikes brakes every 5 seconds, coz there was a blind turn!
                          5) Have u read "Zen and the art of Motorcycle maintanence" by Robert.M Pirsig?-umm no not yet but i sure intend to pretty soon
Hope Iam not asking 4 too much.... - i will bve glad to answr more

sad to read about the accidents. I would not say an accident involving a couple of stitches is minor. Howz your friend now ?

Did you not take any woolens with you ? Mebbe you could have checked with the RD guys ( leppard, etc ) for finding out what all they took , and have builded your trip on their experience.
