    Golden quadrilateral

    Hi guys,

    I need information on the golden quadrilateral. How much is it complete?
    Where are the bad patches still worked upon.

    Has any one done this ride. Time it takes, itinerary, any log if any one has.
    Can share some resources.

    Help me out.

      The patch from surat to vadodra on the Mumbai - Ahemedabad stretch is still not complete. Itz an approx 100 km strech with only one side of the GQ operative thtz 3 lanes.

      We had a bad time in our kutch trip on this strech. The problem is there are too many diversions all make u sway zig zag zig zag. Very dangerours on a bike & night.

      I would reccomend nyone travelling frm here to take the inner road from ankeleshwar. Itz saves 10km journey & 20kms of pain. The roads are good & there is an century old bridge over narmada enroute.

        Bad stretch at Orissa border. Bad stretches between Haveri and Chitradurga on way to Bangalore.
        I guess even the Delhi-Kolkata route aint up and running fully

              No he's speaking about the non-existent roads (Supposedly NH!) at the WB-OR border.

                ^^^Are you sure it is the WB-OR border and not the AP-OR border?

                The NHAI site says that the strech from Ichahapuram to Ganjam is under construction.

                  ^^ Both actually!!!

                  But from what I have heard WB-OR border is totally screwed, but the AP-OR border atleast has roads. I have personally ridden on some parts where the GQ roads go absent off the AP-OR border, and they are pretty much OK. Just need to lookout for the odd pothole here and there. But nearing the AP border is a Naxalite infested area and one needs to be cautious!!!

                      Yes, we have done it. In around 4 days of time. If you plan to "tour" on the GQ there is no problem with the roads, they are typical Indian roads - good at places and bad at places.

                          Thats rought time or accurately in 4 days.

                          That means approx. 1475kms in 1 day.

                          When did you guys sleep........

                          Done on which bike.

                              It was a relay ride, with riders changing at specific locations. But the bike's were running non-stop!

                              Rest details should be available in Pune Mirror as nav75 mentioned.
