      and the question remains why do i race?

      #overkill is underrated.
      #how random roads may appear there is always a destination.sigpic

        Most of these (including the cloud one) are from Canon 400D, using the 18-55 kit lens.
        A few are also clicked using my 3MP Olympus C-350 P&S.

          I wish it had spot metering and that Canon would finally give us something so basic with a firmware upgrade. Ugh! auto focus could be better.

            Great Going, I was waiting for this, more so for the love for Fiero ,

            I am eager to know how did Fiero bet on the Mighty Hills since it had covered more than a 100k ??

                      Following are the tentative dates for this year's Raid & the route is not yet disclosed.
                      7th October 2012 - 12th October 2012
                      So if you happen to be traveling on the same day, on the same route as raid, you will be stopped along with other traffic, until the raid guys have left. So, that might be an issue in your plan.

                      Also, Oct is the time when Winter starts (even in plains), so expect the temperatures to be a bit lower than, say July-Aug. And wind chill will be even bad.

                      Also, Oct is towards the end of season, when passes are about to start receiving snow falls & temporary accommodations on Manali - Leh section might start closing up.

                      This is time when black ice will be an issue. I encountered it enroute Baralacha La in Oct'11 (at around noon time).

                        But you were talking about the raid. What is this. sorry no clue
                        one more question. Is september the best time to go then ? Because the rainy season will be over by that time, and the weather every where becomes some what pleasant.

                          Raid -> OFFICIAL HIMALAYAN MOTORSPORT WEBSITE
                          Its a rally, that's held in Himachal & Kashmir region.

                          September, I have never gone in that month (might go this time). But it should be good. I feel all months(from May - as soon as road opens, till Oct - until roads are closed) are good time to go. Each month will throw up a different challenge.
