Bunny, if you start from delhi, Shimla is around 320 km then only actual journey starts. You know the roads after fagu etc. Bikes go dead slow there max 60kmph.

I started at 12:00am and reached yang-thang at 6:00 pm next day(650kms) after continously riding. Even if you say that I am a slow rider, you can reach there earliest by 3:00pm. You will have to cross your bike on spain again, just like me since the road on malling nullah will be ready only after 2005.Be sure to goto Nako village that is 10km off the road near malling. Assuming that you can ride for 23hrs continuously in one stretch and again for the same duration after a rest of 6 hrs, it seems possible, but take my advice, go there when you have time. There is a place called chandratal after kunzum pass and before Batal and gramphoo regarded as most beautiful lake in entire region which I missed for shortage of time.

If ou can wait, I can go with you. I am in UK these days and seriously missing rafting season in India. I'll be back in the first week of June then we can go with good enough time in hand. Probably I can then tell you all the places to visit. I prefer to travel alone, but nothing like having company of serious riders.

    Cheers.

That's a great new if true. I'll definitely go there again. But guys, you need to be very careful. I enquired at Himachal bhawan in Delhi last year before leaving for Kaza, then at Shimla than at Narkanda. I got the same answer that the road is functional. People see buses coming from Kaza to Shimla and back and their answer is generally based on assumptions. Reality was, buses on this route swap passengers at malling and turn back to origin.

see following guy also did not know before starting the journey-

I was luckier to go on bike. Had it been a four wheeler, I would had to turn back to shimla.

i think if u stick to the route ,ie , delhi-shimla-jeori-yangthan-tabo-kaza-manali-delhi without going around for sightseeing the stuff, then its around 1600kms.. i think overall karizma wud give around 33-34kmpl.. n petrol in delhi is 33.7rs/l so approx cost of petrol is Rs1600.. other cost is accomodation, generally u get rooms for abt250-300 easily.. n den d food cost , abt 30-40 on a nice dhaba per meal.. so work it out

                        Bunny,

I had good time indeed. In january, I went to Auli on my bike. So, if you want to only ride, Think about going there also, else for 3 days, I suggest you go to Nainital-almorah-kausani- karna pryag- rishikesh-delhi.

I understand that after rishikesh road are not very good, but after rampur(UP), u'll enjoy the roads of Corbett national park region. Don't take muradabad-kashipur-ramnagar road that's very bad. After that, roads to almora are very good and drive also. After kausani, on the state highway, it is a pleasure to ride bike on good speed on narrow roads. So you can reach kausani in 1day, stay there overnight, next day come to rishikesh and go for rafting, then come back.

If you have already gone to these places, then the circuits you have suggested seem to be very good. But ponta sahib road is not very enjoyable. The road from rishikesh to Lachchhi-wala is good but after that , lot of potholes.

Anyways , plan as per you taste. and most importantly, enjoy every moment of being on your bike.

Guys, in January , I saw 6 lane road being constructed (on hills), from Joshimath towards China. Locals told me that this road is connected to China and being widened.

                        vivek

I am sorry man, I did not keep any account of petrol, I got it filled up in Delhi, then before chd, rampur then at Kaza, manali and panipat.

I got accomodation in Kaza for Rs150/-. Most of hotels are family run businesses. The place where I stayed, belonged to Head master of local school. In manali, the only place I stay, every time I go to Manali,is Hotel Ekant, on Rohtang road. Rate veries from 250-300 per night here. Rest if food and drinks.

thx a lot viveksh..ya even i thought of doin the auli trip but i wanna explore the himachal area 1st..
hey 6 lane highway in hills? wow!! riding into china..someday!!

rates r nice man! 150 bucks..cool!! its good for me coz i gotta spend out of my pocket money for the trips..
i think if i dont drive as fast as u did (!) i will manage around 30kmpl.so petrol cost wil be around 1750 for me.plus approx 900-1000 for 4 nights accomodation plus around 500 for 5 day food. so i cant do the same route as u did for around
                                3150-3250..cool enuf..
but the point is when.. not in june coz wil b going to shimla..

one more thing, for the route u did, extra petrol is not required na..coz karizma's tank takes in around 16liters.so 16*28=448km range. wat do u say
