Chail is very least populated place with pockets of villages. It's surrounded by Chail sanctuary & thus you will dense green cover all around. It doesn't have many hotels near the main market but has few. One of them is State Govt. owned (HPTDC) Chail Palace hotel. It was the erstwhile estate of the Maharaja of Chandigarh. The estate itself is very big with main unit being the Palace & surrounding BEAUTIFUL gardens. The estate has thick forest cover & has some cottages &, the most interesting, log huts, 5 in number. It's around 500mts from the main unit & one has to travel through forest trail to reach the huts & the view is breathtaking. You can see Shimla on the distant mountain & see the beautiful sunset. The palace & the gardens are very beautiful. All the flower decoration inside the palace hotel is sourced from the garden itself.
the log hut pic when we arrived... the quality of carpet & linen is much better in the main palace suites & rooms (it has one Maharaja & Maharani suite)

Wife was happy for arranging a unique place

beginning to get dark & get's a bit scary too in the night

Sunset...

We had a good sleep & in the evening headed towards the market to have food. Sorry for the poor photo.. seems like dust particles on my lense

there aren't many restaurant but we found one good dhaba, Anand restaurant. food was quite good & quite reasonable. Nothing very spicy or very oily but highly apt. A recommended place to eat. Don't go if you expect Delhi types dark oily choley-bhature. Infact, it serves very light choley.

Wore helmet everywhere (coz I liked it too much
)

There were other families too in the other huts but the atmosphere was way too calm still

And the glimpse of sun rays of next day, 12th May our Anniversary.

Wild but sexy flowers

the best part of being there in the midst of the forest & mountain is the peace you get. No car horns, no human bakar bakar... only birds chirping & the soothing air...

More awesome pics coming later.....
