Just Tag a line with your post the expected date when the Saach Pass is open for light vehicles!!!!!!!!!

I think the route from Saach Pass to Spiti Valley and Narkanda will be an interesting trip.

        Day3 Banjharoo to Killad contd.............

I spent hardly 5 minutes at The Pass.Took some self shots and murmured a silent prayer. No soul was there at the temple.
Now descent towards Bagotu begins and i was relieved that no more steep ascent to torture my scooter.I kept the ignition on but did not engage clutch and slowly drove down towards Bagotu. But road at the other side of Sach Pass are bumpier than Satrundi side.Scooter was making irritating noise all thru bumpy ride.
Reached Bagotu in 40 minutes, there was only one lone dhaba which was only serving Kadhi Chawal and Tea.Kadhi Chawal was the forced choice but it was tasty.Kadhi chawal was followed by two cups of tea. There are few hutments of Police and PWD staff. After Bagotu no eating point till killad which is 35 kms from Bagotu.
After lunch at Bagotu,we moved ahead to face the another truth of Sach pass road.Lots of water torrents.

        Inside Dhaba

Having lunch in lone dhaba at Bogotu 12 kms from Pass

        Rocky roads

          Day3 Banjharoo to Killad contd.............

Bagotu side is more difficult to ride, the road at this side are very narrow, rocky and lot of water streams.Since it was late September, flow of those streams were not as fierce as Prashant/Archit had to face. But still it was very troublesome crossing water streams due to one major handicap of Eterno-small radius of its tyres.

          बस किसी तरह गिरते पड़ते जा रहे थे
Maintaining balance inside the water was near impossible because of trembling handle of the scooter. But difficulty of the Sach Road was the sole reason i came here,so wy complain now!!!!
Around 6 in the evening we reached Killad and settled in the PWD GH.Care taker was a soft spoken person and accepted our request to stay there.GH was very cozy and spacious, highly recommended.

                DAY4- Killad TO Sissu 28 sEP 2011

Previous day was very very tiring but we were very content and elated after scaling Sach Pass and riding on the most difficult road i have ever seen.Riding from Kalaban till Killad was very slow, bumpy and tiring. Our back and Wrist had become very stiff and butts were literally burning.
We were very tired so once settled in our bed, sleep took over and snoring was the only sound in that silent PWD Guest House.
We woke up at 6 am tried to start our vehicles.Aman's Fazer threw some tantrums. Its battery was discharged due to cold,so we had to push start it.It came to life in a single push.
My scooter as usual made me breathless and i could only start it after 10 minutes of kickings.Care take of the GH made tea and we enjoyed our tea at the gate of GH talking to a visiting govt officer who was also staying in the same GH.
Around 7 am,we resumed our ride to face the bumpy roads again, towards Cherry.

                Little update

                Day 4 contd.....

Between Killad AND Udaipur, there are numerous water crossings of every type-deep,raging,calm ,ferocious etc.Aman was easily crossing all the streams but with shorter radius of scooter's tyres,it was a very challenging for me to cross.
Then came a lengthy water crossing with lots of hidden boulders inside water.Aman started to cross it while i was filming him.He had to put his legs in chilly water to maintain the balance. He went thru.
Its my turn now,i took off my shoes an dropped them at the begining end before crossing this streams.I did not want to ride next 100 kms in wet shoes. After getting stuck in the middle and rescued out by laborers,i managed to cross that stream.
I went back to re claim my shoes. How??See below!!!!

Day 4 and Concluding day 5

Around 2 at noon we finally reached the biggest town of the route Udaipur after 7 hrs of butt burning ride and bearing never ending bumpy road.
Aman was dying to talk to his parents at home and wanted to convey his well being.Udaipur has BSNL network and Airtel,so he was able to talk back at home.
I also talked to Vaibhav(kurtrules),he assured us that bad road ends here and now on there is smooth ride till Rohtang. He was right,we left behind bumpy roads and riding on smooth roads once again barring some rough patches here and there.
Our initial plan was to make Khoksar our night halt suddenly we saw an PWD GH at Sissu and tried our luck and surprisingly allowed to stay in the GH.So instead of staying at Khoksar,we spend our night at Sissu 12 kms before Khoksar.Sissu being a smalltown has no big dhaba and we had search a lot and finally found a shop cum dhaba which was serving only Dal-Chawal.Navratras had already begun,so no meat eating for Aman but i ordered an omlette with Dal-Chawal.End of the day.Tomorrow,we will be crossing over Rohtang Top and reached as near to Delhi as we can.
Early morning, started our ascent towards fearful Rohtang but pleasantly surprised to see a dried up and empty top barring a 50 meters long Slush stretch. It was a cake walk.Rohatang was nowhere near to its monsoon avatar.Once we crossed the Rohatng and reached Manali, moblies came to life and started ringing. We knew that our facing the truth,it is the begining of end of ride and what remains is a plain boring ride back to home.

n the Morning while we are crossing rohtang and something is waiting for us i.e Keechad

We try to manage this very badly, master ji is holding my bike from back side and finally we both managed to cross this slush ..

Finally Marhi is here and we are very hungry ......

                          Its break fast time

                          A view from Marhi

We are again Ready to Move and some random pics on the way

After A major Cervical Pain i managed to cross all the way till Zirakpur

and after seeing a bed on dhabha we can't stop our self

but the dhabha owner is very selfish he moves our bed from the road side to inner dhabha side and we have to move from bed to chairs..

We had our dinner and master ji again ready for journey

after some time i reached ambala toll bridge.the time is around 2 am and i m very tired and i slept on the Footpath on the left side........

Magar master ji ne kabhi kisi ko sone diya hai kya

Khud aate hi utha diya mujhe aur jaise hi main utha khud so gaye

                          Epilogue

I would like to use this epilogue as a thanksgiving opportunity to Aman, who bear my scooter's slow speed with a smiling face and co-operated in a very amicable way.
Without him,my Sach ride would have proved more difficult for me.He is perfect riding buddy and i would like go to another ride with him.
From Kalabn till Kilaad, road is nowhere to be seen.It breaks your back.
Bogotu is the only place between Bairagrh and Kilaad where you can have some food.Distance is 80 kms between two places.
Satrundi police register your details in written and videography is also done for verification.
There are numerous waterfalls between Sach Pass and Udaipur.
                          Udaipur has Airtel connectivity.
Bajharoo has a beautiful PWD GH which can be booked from Chamba. Its caretaker was a very courteous gentleman. He didnt charge the morning tea.
This ride has taught me that a compatible riding partner doubles the fun during ride.
I am looking for another tough passage for my future travel plan where i can be one with pre- historic stones, rocks, waterfalls, trees, and most importantly gain an insight into life of my countrymen living in these hidden places.
Thanks for all who read this blog and encouraged us in kind words.
                          सच का साथ साथ सामना करने में बड़ा मज़ा आया

                          End of Log.
