    Saddle sore 2012 attempt Travelogue

    Hi Everyone, Pre-Ride:Planning:-
    Pre-Ride Preparations:
    Phase- 1-
    Phase-2-
    Phase-3-
    Return Stretch-

    Phase-4-
    An accident scene-1-

I was riding along in the heat and my body getting exhausted each minute, I thought of stopping for a drink, so I was in search for a shop, because all throughout the highway, You can find shops mainly in the Service roads, suddenly I noticed a small gathering ahead, with a Police jeep and few plastics on the road, In a moment I realized I was in the middle of an Accident scene, Stopped there, and the next thing I saw was a bike totaled and a body fully covered in blood lying face down, I was devastated to see that, there was nothing much I could do other than to pray for that soul, whoever he might have been. Got down from the bike, Stood for a minute, had a small prayer and started off again. Then slowly lot of unwanted thoughts started creeping into my mind. By this time where ever I stop I had to push the bike into second gear and get it started, because the self start was out. Got a message from Rohan asking about my whereabouts and Location, and he said he will be waiting for me at Salem (Same petrol pmp where we fuelled few hours ago.

    Accident Scene-2-

    Trip Summary-

    Thank God,
    Regards,
    Shaan/-

Wow, nice 1st post. Welcome to xBHP archang3l.

Congrats on your attempt, it takes courage to even attempt such a thing and see yourself as a winner already. 1000 miles is just a number. Feel happy about whatever you have achieved. As DD says, There is always a next time .
Advice is a form of nostalgia.
Dispensing it is a way of fishing the past from the disposal, wiping it off, painting over the ugly parts and recycling it for more than it's worth.

first of all let me congratulate you for the attempt

the route you have chosen is suitable for these kind of runs

from what i have read in your post i understood that you started from your place on may-19th itself, reached kanyakumari at 4 P.M and then started for your u-turn point at 8:30 P.M.

i am no judge here ,but i dont think you should have done it like that,by this way you dint have rest atleast 10-12 hours before the ride. instead you should have had sound sleep till late afternoon(till 4 or so) ,then few last minute preparations and start the ride (just my 2cents)

my best wishes for you future attempts
R.I.P vinu s v,you will never be forgotten
