This trip was inspired by a fellow rider Ravi Varma; and since I looked at his trip log and pictures, the sulamani bug in me turned chaotic and pushed me to do this trip even when the rain god was not at his mercy. I took the same route as Ravi but with some planning. I discussed with a friend and he agreed to tag along with me on the bike and he was as excited as me after hearing about the proposed trip.
The plan began about 4 days earlier from the date of the journey; I gathered info on the Ahobilam site and the route map.

In my research I found that as per the legend that god manifested himself in the various forms in stones and therefore there is very little know about some of the history of these marvelous sculptures and the whole mountain is considered as a god.
